It’s funny how long it takes Matt to finish editing his videos it’s almost exactly the amount of time it takes taters to finish doing dinner and all of the chores.😂
My local waters! I know everything south of the dam in this video. Used to ride my bike to the dam on a weekly basis. There's a trail just on river-left that connects the dam to the neighborhoods south of it. 7:30 that's Highway 610, and if they'd have kept filming to the left after rounding the bend visible in the distance we'd have seen the house I grew up in. And before that house, my parents were in an apartment on the edge of Islands of Peace!
If it's just north of the I-694 bridge, it's Durnham Island. Nice safe spot and its pretty common for people to access it by boat - camping overnight is less common but it happens and as long as its done respectfully residents are fine with it.
That power plant you camped near is actually a nuclear plant. The coal-fired plant is just up river from it. The nuclear plant got in trouble recently for releasing radioactive material into the river. They said it was a very small amount but just FYI.
We brought a filter but haven’t used it. Any major drainage like this will have all sorts of contaminants in it. Plenty of riverside parks along the way
Tatar is smart covering her face… says the gal who just had a little tip of her nose taken off by the dermatologist. He found the one place I kept forgetting to put sunscreen on.
do more stealth camping and relax about it 99.9% of the time you will be fine after vetting it on gmaps And at the airport in Milwaukee They refused to let us board the plane at all They said we looked suspicious But I believe they like to pick on me and Paul get some bear spray - you won't use it but if you do it is debilitating - take 2 they are small
This is one of best channels I have subscribed to! I get excited when a notification appears. Thank you both for the “in real time” adventure.

Supper sounds awesome! Did I mention I like wine? Paddle On!
I'm looking forward to the locks.
Has anyone commented that a "genuine masochist" would do the Mississippi NORTHBOUND instead of just gliding South with the current? 😂 😅😊
😂
Taters said no to that so we’re just having to settle for a lot of headwind…
Ironically. Oregon Trail the text based pc/Mac game originated in MN.

Good day on the river !
Can you filter the river water?

I have friends who swear by the sun glasses nose cover for similar reasons.
Love
Is this in Minnesota
Yes, just north of Minneapolis.
Damselfly?
Love the channel! Hate the way they say portage!
Jen didn't know about "Cops"? This proves she has excellent taste in entertainment.
She also didn’t know about Firefly or Babylon 5 before meeting me. Just sayin
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes Didn't know about Firefly?!? I am wounded to the core!
First Pour-Tahj now dis-in-tree. Matt’s really gone too far now.
Yay! Taters said por-tage instead of port-age at the end 😂. Sorry but port-age just doesn't sound right. 😊
You're about to enter real Somali pirate territory, although I haven't heard of canoe-jacking yet.
