Thank you for your paddling endeavors enduring flat, glassy waters, various renegade animals wanting to be on your RUclips channel...oh those horrid-ly beautiful scenes...the food ,the wine...the jelly beans?? You all are wonderful Thank you
I’ll be excited to see the parts of the River I used to know quite well (probably in the next few installments). Enjoying your journey. Thanks for sharing!
My favourite sign is in the middle of a moor in the UK. There is nothing near by. The sign says “ Do NOT throw stones at this notice” At the bottom of the pole is - of course- a pile of stones.
The five love languages, I identify with all of them! 😂 I love seeing Taters dinner prep, she should do a video with nothing but her recipes. Her noodles with fresh veggies sounds good.
We tend to do a lot of staple dinners since availability is often so limited. So lots of beans + rice + seasoning. Most of the videos I’ve seen by thru hikers talking about meals are waaaay to complicated to sustain.
The island before the power plant is really nice, I camped there. The gentle hum put me to sleep pretty fast. The asian carp are no joke, I got hit in the side of the head with one and almost knocked me out of the canoe!
How mush would you sell the canoe for when you are done? I can see driving down to explore SE Louisiana, giving you a ride somewhere and taking that canoe off you hands. We could also do a night in New Orleans if you like debaucherous civilization.
We don’t have a hard number since that’s so far away at this point. One other person down there was potentially interested in it since I guess this model of canoe isn’t as common down south. Best to email us when we’re down on the lower river
Extra weight - no hiker wine, bottled wine!!!!! Might be there already at the time of posting this video you are not liking the lake effect parts of the Mississippi, Lake Pepin is going to be a challenge for sure.
Next time you come to Minnesota, please don't use the stereotypical "Somali pirate" joke constantly. Minnesota has a very vibrant Somali immigrant community who have contributed greatly to our state's culture and economy.
Hehe I don’t drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.😂
I may have told Jen a few times right before bed “Good news! Only 6 or so hours until coffee time!”
First ! The five love languages you showed , i can totally understand and speek. 🤣😂

I live right by the river where you paddled past! Glad you had fun in St. Cloud!
Welcome to Cloudtown! Waving to you as paddled by 😊
Thanks, you guys are doing great. Safe journeys. ✌🏻👊🏼
Thanks!

The second powerplant that you went by was the Monticello Nuclear plant
Just give me the wine! Paddle On!
The Beaver islands are crazy. Especially if the water is low.
So I suspect the power plant you passed just before camp is the Buffalo MN nuclear power plant.
Enjoying your adventure, division of labor is real. Hope you get to ride down many locks on your paddle adventure.
We’ve been 2 for 2 having to portage around them the last two days. Barges go through *reeeeeealy* slow
Love

I’ve been telling Jen that could happen and saying hopefully we catch it on video at least. Probably beats getting hit by a jumping sturgeon at least…
Playlist is out of sequence. Not certain if it can be fixed.
Wondered why no comment about St. Cloud and this appears after ST Paul.
Oops. Should be fixed now. That’s one of the many annoying things when doing this all 100% on the phone

What model is that canoe? All I can tell is it’s a Souris.

did you tie your canoe to a tree overnight?
Yes. We’re paranoid about water rising after some past trips we’ve done
Jen, you go ahead and pronounce "portage" anyway you want 😉
Hey Y'all !
"Sounds of human nature".
There, fixed it for you :-)
😎✌
So I don't think the eagles are fighting, you might be seeing a mating ritual.
They were doing something vigorous in mid air anyway…
Yup. That is what eagle foreplay looks like, lucky you for seeing that!!
You missed the portage stairs. You went a little too far.
you were so much closer to other resupplies

Pepin actually worked out. After a rough bit at the top we were able to use our hand sail and move across quite well for once

vibrant..beware "vibrant" areas
Bloke. Matt isn't it? I love these videos but be nice to your bird.
