    That is nice. I’m looking at getting one for my 08 Pilot. During the winter, I clean my 2 car drive way as well as well as my parents (divorced, and both have their own homes and driveways…..lol). The other benefit, is you’re sitting in your nice warm toasty truck and listening to some nice music while working. 😉👍🏾

    I have had one for eight years, and I bought it from a person that had it for 5 years. Its still works great. The best part if my old pickup truck breaks down, I can plow in reverse with my Subaru SUV. I have even used a Subaru outback to plow in reverse.

      how well do you think this would work on a front wheel drive suv to clear a parking lot? I'm not trying to start a business with it or anything, just trying to save some money from gougers. average snowfall in my area is 6" but its seems to be closer to 4" the last 10 years

    Had my snowsport hd 3 years now.. I use it on front of pickup.. But also made a hitch for my bobcat.. And I use it pretty regularly all winter.. The only time I run into trouble is hard snow drifts.. It tends to want to float over it.. Unless you can put down pressure on it.. So usually I am making a pass before any hard drifts are created.

    Great video. I was wondering how this would do if it were run over grass/gravel while mounted on a vehicle -- apparently it works very well. Also, seeing how easy it seemed to plow in reverse makes me think that I might get one next winter for my SUV (where I wasn't going to try to put on a front hitch).

    • @adamj8293
      @adamj8293  2 года назад +4

      Gravel and grass is where this plow really shines. I have a regular steel blade too that I use on a tractor and I push gravel all over the place. The SnowSport moves very little gravel and doesn't bother the grass at all. The rubber cutting edge seems to be the ticket. I was a bit skeptical at first but so far so good.

    One question, though... have you used it in the angled position for clearing long lengths?
    EDIT: Watched your video with this plow on the Kubota, but I'd still appreciate it if you could expand on the angle issue. It did look like the upwind (uphill?) side of the plow did stay a little cleaner.

      Maybe I’m an idiot but the cutting edge on the blade is always trying to push the blade down, and I notice as he pulls ahead the back dragging lifts the blade, he would have to have snow deeper than the bumper to have the blade fall off, and he’d be driving forward likely stuck, I don’t see where the blade would ever touch his tail gate. Correct me if I’m wrong, it’s a pretty cool set up

    • @stevehoudek9235
      @stevehoudek9235 5 месяцев назад

      @@tylerohara7141 believe me, I own one. When you hit the big pile going forward, the blade starts to rise up (which is not shown in this video) and if the top retaining pins are not in, it will go over the top and possibly damage the vehicle. It rises to help pile the snow high.
      I forgot to put them in once and learned the hard way. Doubt it would ever be an issue when backing up.

      Yeah I agree with your comment 100%.
      I’ve been using this same plow on my old 98 Dakota for 8 winters now. I use it on the front end and last year I was pushing snow into a bank and the plow floated up and off the rails as I approached a high snow bank. I didn’t have the retaining pins in and so the plow popped off the rail upwards and suddenly and this caused it to slam down onto my hood causing pretty good damage.

    For your use im not a fan. All that work would we down in a couple minutes with a plow on the front back and forth no hesitation going forward moving snow. They make better setups for hitches that can drag snow away from buildings. In my opinion thats the only real use, get in very close with a straight blade "plow" and drag it away from obstacles then clear it with your plow. No truck is meant to push anything in reverse let alone snow, which builds up (a trailer is one thing, snow is completely different). Lets be honest too, even an f350 or 3500 (same shit different manufacturer) takes a beating plowing, 150 (1500) not made for it

    The lateral loading on that hitch is unacceptable. They are not designed to take loads like that. You clip a curb or stump or uneven driveway with the edge of the blade and it's transmitting a twisting force to it which it's literally not designed to take. I'd definitely feel uneasy about towing my 40" enclosed trailer on the same hitch I was using up and down the uneven driveway the day before.
