the Bonnot Gang episode really caught me off guard with how good it was! i had no idea what to expect but it was super interesting.
technical/sound quality seems fine to me, i've definitely heard worse (from very popular and long-running podcasts no less). also saw on twitter that you guys might get Martyn Ware on the pod 👀 would love to hear that!! probably a long shot but i would also love to hear you guys in conversation with Vic Godard, he's a great musician, pro-Palestine and a big Corbyn guy

Thought about suggestions for future pods , Nestor Makhno ? His strain of anarchist thought ,would the Bolsheviks have made it if his lot had not kicked the living daylights out of the advancing white army ? Bakunin ? His syndicalism,the debates in the early workers internationals ? Hope it helps.
I'm glad that I am not the only ageing person who forgets the recent past. I'm good on the 60s, 70s 80s and 90s. Unfortunately they were the years of the end of the social contract and the beginning on Thatcher. The fact that Labour and Tories are reading from the same playbook doesn't really help either.
I just had a vision of Alexie and Lisa doing Kung foo ,'sticky hands,' almost nose to nose ,all intense concentration with feints and slight crucial moments, and then a wee bow and onto the stage to talk literature. 😂😅🤣😄

I should read what I have already written. I often refer to sticky hands as sticky arms ,and thought that was what I typed, mainly because when you are doing it ,your whole arm is the focal point of your whole body. The tiny moves on the fulcrum of your elbow can ,if you get It wrong,put you on your arse. Maybe it should be sticky elbows .😁

Bit late to this conversation but am fascinated by the story of Rudolf Vrba who escaped Auschwitz. To my shame I had never heard of him but thrn saw a review of Freedlands shitty book and mistelling of this heroic tale. See Jonathan Cook and Tony Greenstein. We should all know why he is not a household name.

Regardless of his thoughts on the current Labour Party, I wonder what Alexei’s thoughts are on the horrific abuse of a number of Labour candidates - especially on female candidates.
