- Perfect weather +swordfish mojo + a freezer-burned jack mackerel = more big-ass swordfish. We are so grateful the cameras were rolling when the swordfish came to have a crack and attack the boat!!! Some crazy action that would be hard to believe otherwise.

Hello Matt! Do you remember us? We are korean fishing tv show 'cityangler'. We open our youtube channel. We will miss you. We wanna see you again!!
Hey my friends! We loved fishing with the 'City Angler' crew, and hope to see you all again soon.
Definitely the mojo
Very cool too see the team work in this. He driver fights the fish as much as the angler and the spotter. Super cool
Yep the angler really is just there to retrieve slack line, the skipper and the deckhand are far more pivotal to actually catching the fish
Some bloody big swords you have there Matt ! My dad is a kiwi so he knows this sor5 of fishing
Eres mi ídolo!!!👏👏👏
Awesome footage mate yeeeeeew
Perfeck fishing brother....👍
Watching from Indonesia 🇮🇩🙏
Bloody awesome Matt, I'm going to chase swordfish on Saturday. This has me keen as it's one of two Pacific billfish species I've got left to get boatside
The big question...is how to the swordfish know about the swordfish mojo on deck of the boat? Mystery of mysteries there Matt!
They don't know, they can FEEL it 😅
Man, I love your slippers! hahaha
Camera on the outrigger is a great idea
amazing🥰
Good job👍👍👍👌
Awesome
Very nice and beautiful fishing vlog 👍 🌹 🌹 🌹
Ultimate
Bloody awesome fella's. Miss old Aotearoa at times like this.
I have to ask Matt, are swords wearing enough on 500lb leader that you can crack it one handed? If so, would you recommend using fluorocarbon to avoid that issue since mono has only a hard coating on it and fluorocarbon is hardened all the way through?
I'm impressed you can still crack it regardless, I have cracked 300lb before and felt like my hand was going to break.
Slippers,Matt your losing it😆
Hello how are you doing
How can you jam the reel? Job 1 dont damage the line
Matt it’s Max I met you at the boat show
Mean bro
Look at those outboards smoking away
guys what did he poke the swordfish with and what does it do?
It's a research tag, location and size is recorded in a database so if the fish is ever recaptured migration and growth can be tracked.
Do you think guys that first swordfish will survive after surfaces from exhaustion? See it swimming upside down while getting down to the bottom, I see many videos showing dead Marlins and Swordfish floating in the sea elsewhere after the tag and release fishing tournament have done those. So what they did was just playing around and wasting the big fish at the same time!
depends.. here we pull the fish upright at a few knots and revive it, getting water in its gills, letting go of if only when it is strong enough.. as the fish starts to get deeper and the air starts to compress, it will get upright usually..
They can see by the tag if it made it, and if not, change their release techniques
Yes that fish would have survived. If you watch the video closely you will see that once the fish is down 10m or one atmosphere, it rights itself and swims away. If the fish was not fit for release the call would have been made to keep it. Here is a link to another swordfish video where the fish was not fit to be released. www.ultimatefishing.tv/home/video/489/shaw%27s-swordfish
@@UltimateFishingTV I watch the video on your link and to be honest with you I enjoyed watching it, yea you've done the right decision of not letting it go, it'll surely die and will end up in the big shark's mouth, or rot in the surface of the sea. Hopefully, if a thing such as that happens again in your future adventure better have it take home than letting the fish go then in a few hours will die. Keep safe folks!
Are you gonna film or land the fish before he died
2 mins ago lmao
Should be banned your literally murdering it slowly after 17 hour's of hard labor the fish is so exhausted and blown out they don't make it back down I'm a pretty keen hearty angler myself but il never have any desire in catching swords or Marlin no hate just a shower thought lol I love Matt Watson he's definitely the Man!
Nice capture but I think you’re dreaming Re the 500lb estimate.
He's pretty good with his guesses, his son's first fish he guessed at 200-210kg and it went 212kg.
I did not know Ultimate Fishing had lost their soap...you need your mouth cleaned out Matt. I thought thus was a FAMILY show?
