Must be one of the best renditions of this I've heard. I did this for Grade 6 ABRSM a long time ago but could not get up to this speed accurately. I've heard it played well even faster than this but I think Ashkenazy chose a very good speed. It really sings. Thanks for posting.

especially durring the dolce sections with the RH crossovers, where beethoven clearely notated pedal. Funny how he used it on the arpeggio parts, where it isn't indicated, and not where it was indicated. (Though I like using the pedal on the arpeggio parts) Not saying it isn't good though, fantastic performance!

A comparatively unappreciated sonata but it covers a lot of ground. Immediately attractive and wears well on repeated hearings.
