Mainstream ASMR is just awful. People don't get it, they don't understand its just "cool" to do now. This video, a few others, and Maria's original content is all I watch.

Reasons why this is still one of my favourite ASMR videos:
    1. The LoFi quality adds to the spontaneity of trigger videos like this.
    2. Non-excessive tapping! Just enough to show the sound qualities of each item without going overboard into irritation (which is my personal pet peeve with a lot of tapping videos)
    3. Linked to 2, you have a way of holding and showing each item and letting each sound play out naturally.
    One of the best :)

Ahhh yes this is good. I remember as a child being entranced by my moms rummaging through her purse and hoping she didn't find whatever she was looking for that fast.

that is funny , I used to do the same thing when I would check in at the dr office and they had to use the computer keybard to type in information I used to hope they needed lots of info, and then again people turning magazine pages in the waiting room ha ha I hate going to the dr but the part before put me in a trance tee hee:)

Clary Nicks I always loved getting haircuts with scissors. Oh man I would hope she would take her time with the cold metal on my forehead and the slow snipping sounds were great. Sadly though I haven’t gotten a haircut for about 4-5 months.

TheSololobo It is the same for me, but a different situation. In our school, we have large bins of colored markers, and I love listening to people rummage through them for the right color. It used to put me to sleep at my desk. I hoped it would take them a few minutes to find one color, for each one they would need. Selfish, but I have really bad insomnia due to my PTSD. Every time I'm able to rest is a blessing

Oh, the glories of the old fashioned train case! Way back in the day make up companies made little travel sizes of all their stuff. So you could fit all your fave creams, powders and sprays into a small section of a train case. You brought the train case with you to your seat, while your main trunk went to the baggage car.
A lady made sure she had a fresh set of under things, a pair of slippers, a peignoir set, a clean blouse, fresh stockings, hair rollers....everything she would need to emerge daisy fresh from her sleeper berth in the morning. And it all had to fit into that train case.

Faaaaaaaantastic! I was getting frustrated looking through ASMR videos, trying to find one that was actually soothing, and not overdone with the tapping, moving objects around, sorting, etc. You didn't over do any of it. You sorted through that make up naturally, and the tapping you did was minimal so as not to become a distraction. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open to type this....thank you, thank you, thank you.

I didn't know that the relaxing feeling I would get from listening to rustling bags, sorting of makeup, page turning, and even the sound of hockey pucks hitting sticks , even had a name! I've been this way since as far back as I could remember! I'm glad it has a name and an explanation and I'm not the only one!! Listening to this video had made me relaxed and fall asleep numerous times! By far my fave!

I wasn't sure what my earliest memory of ASMR was until I found this yesterday. When I was really young, probably around six or even earlier (and continuing for a few years) I used to love it when my mom looked through her make up bag, or set pieces down on the table, or especially how they sounded when they clinked against one another - we stayed in the same room when I was little so I got to wake up to that every morning for ages. Thank you so much for helping me pinpoint my earliest memory.

+Karla Estrada the amount I use now would be two eyeliners, mascara, foundation, foundation brush, powder, and powder brush. Lol.

its relaxing to some people. Kinda like the tingling sensation you may get in your ear if someone whispers in it... or even people who can't sleep without rain sounds or 'white noise' playing at night. It helps a lot with people who have insomnia or just need to relax, but obviously not everyone is relaxed by repetitive sounds like this..so it just looks weird to them. I am nearly 9 months pregnant with twins and this stuff is the only way i can ignore the discomfort and fall asleep.

I love these sounds! I had tingles within the first 10 seconds. Make a part 2 but organizing them? I love the box the makeup is in by the way... LOVE vintage stuff! 😍 I need one like this.

I remember a video of a lady showing her MAC makeup collection while her baby was sleeping and she had this gentle and quiet voice so that she wouldn't wake up the baby and that combined with the sounds of her rummaging through her makeup box made me feel so relaxed, I guess that was the first time I experienced ASMR and I wanna go back to it but I think it's been deleted :(. Luckily enough, this video reminds me so much of that one ❤️
