At a marriage function, during the morning Tiffin often everybody asks for more sambar. This Tiffen sambar is much important in our life, everybody likes it much. There are variations in this like Chettinad style, Udupi style etc., all the styles are combined together to form a style called Madras Tiffin Sambar. There are lots of restaurant brands that were built up with the name sambar. Today I am going to tell you the preparation method of Madras Tiffin Sambar. It's very popular based on this sambar only we can more dishes like sambar vada, mini idly. In this recipe, there are 24 types of ingredients are used without vegetables. Here are the Ingredients for Madras Tiffin Sambar
Coconut oil - 20 gms
Toor dal - 100 gms
Bengal Gram dal - 8 gms
Urad dal - 9 gms
Khus khus - 3 gms
Cumin seeds - 2 gms
Pepper seeds - 1 gms
Mustard seeds - 2 gms
Coriander seeds - 5 gms
Fenugreek - 1 gms
Long red chilli - 4 gms
Garlic - 2 gms
Jaggery - 5 gms
Turmeric powder - 1 gm
Coriander powder - 1 gm
Asafoetida - 1 gm
Asafoetida - few pinches (seasoning)
Coconut grated - 100 gms
Salt to taste
Tomato (Country) - 200 gms
Sambar onion - 110 gms
Coriander leaves for garnish
Curry leaves for seasoning
Round chilli - 3 gms
