I have spent 2 years of my life crossing under that fly over. Every evening the vibe gets even crazier. Back in 2013-14 their was no side railings and proper cementing at that place but however they beautified it. People are friendly and encouraging. I remember I just sat there once out of curiosity and one uncle came and set me up with a chess board on a stool and asked me to play. I was just a confused teenager from a very small place with a school bag behind my back and an astounding amount of sweat on my forehead.
There is another place approximately 20 minutes away from Gariahat, it's called Rashbihari Mor. There they also play roadside chess there but it's not as organised as they have at Gariahat.
Kolkata a city that gives retro and modern vibe at the same time 😇😌
