Loved how much you both took the time to understand the lyrics! To gain more understanding and appreciation, check out the explanation video from DKDKTV called DDAENG - Explained by a Korean. It’ll give you some more cultural context to the lyrics to appreciate all the double and triple entendres in this track!
I absolutely second that.. And I'll add .. you absolutely need to see the vocalists doing ddaeng instead of the rappers!! It is a very impressive performance done live!!
Lol watch the DKDKTV explanation it’ll blow your mind.. and the order they were singing in was J hope Suga and RM.. enjoyed the reaction.. Thank you💜❤️
Ddaeng is one of the masterpiece from RAPLINE🙌 Ddaeng is a diss track for the haters without any toxic bad word tbh.. And guys you need watch the explanation video from DKDKTV.. You'll find more meaning..
Suga and El Capitxn (his long-time co-producer) produced this song. There's also a video of the rapline in the studio fine-tuning the track for their own verses. It's so cool seeing them at work. I also recommend watching the live performances, one by the rapline and one by the vocal line. JK is such a good rapper!
Guys, you’ve made it to some rap line music!!!Whoop whoop🙌🙌 You deciphered it well considering you’re not Korean, don’t know the language, or I’m assuming Korean History professors. 😉 I’ll echo the other comments re: DKDKTV explanation video. SO GOOD, and they are using DDAENG in more than three ways. Y’all are so fun to watch, love your humor!! 💜💜
I love this song so much - it has so much to love: a great beat, the use of traditional Korean instruments to showcase the heavy Korean wordplay and Korean cultural references in the lyrics (DKDKTV channel gives the most thorough explanation of it all), and terrific rap flows... Particularly RM's cool laid-back vibe and his stutters
Watch the live performances if you can - there’s one with just the rapline and one where all the members performed with the vocal line taking on the rap parts. Also if you check out an explanation video once you’ve spent some time on analysing the lyrics.
This is one of the Rap line songs that you need to watch the explanation video by DKDKTV to fully understand and appreciate especially because of all the Korean cultural and linguistic references. Would love to see you guys check it out. You won't regret it!😊
This one absolutely requires that you check out the DKDKTV explanation of a "Ddaeng". It is super dense with word play and cultural references that you really need a native speaker to break it down. There IS a live performance of this with the rap line as well as a live performance where the vocal line participates that is 100% worth checking out.
There's video live from one of their concerts where the vocal line swop with the rap line so the vocal line did DDaeng the Rap line had coached them. It's brilliant.
I love this song, the beat and the way it was released for free for fans to have fun is just iconic. Its one of those classic bts songs bts will be remembered for...
SInce you've said you enjoy the beat, Yoongi( SUGA) was one of the producers, he has a lot of producer credits in their albums and all of his solo projects.
Y'all should check out the "DKDKTV's explanation video for Ddaeng". DKDKTV has done a lot of explanation vids for BTS songs cuz some of them are ridiculously intricate and its hard to pick up on everything BTS is saying without having some cultural context. Also the second rapper who you both thought was RM was actually Suga, RM had the last verse (with the stutter flow)
What's really cool about this is how during 2018 (year when ddaeng was released), BTS was getting hate about how their music was becoming more westernized and boring. So, they released this diss track with heavy korean instrumentals and lyrics ✨️
I thought deep about that hater thing after watching your reaction and it blew my mind away...his lyrics are genius as always. Thanks a lot for the reaction!!
I recommend you watch the explanation video made by dkdktv there's sooo much wordplay and reference they used which either get lost in translation or just us non korean cant quite catch. its such a witty song. thank you for your reaction!!
i'm a little upset b/c i've liked several of your bts/agust d reactions in the past and you're not showing up on my algorithm ... so your reaction to jk's seven comes up and i click on your channel and find you've been reacting to my favorite bts songs - gahhhhh!!! ddaeng is a masterpiece - i wish it was attached to an album. always enjoy your reactions, tysm!
Great reaction...to fully understand how epic this song is PLEASE react to "Ddaeng explained by a Korean" by DKDKTV ...it is in english it is enjoyable ....They have videos explaining their more complicated songs

Dkdktv has the explanation to this song to make it easier for you. You had RM and Suga mixed up the first time he had the best verse in this.
