In cypher pt. 2 where they said "go back to hawaii" they were referring to a rapper named Bfree who was born in hawaii. That rapper criticized RM and Suga for being idols and not being real "rappers". Thats why Jhope also pretty much let them take over the verses and he stuck with introducing the two because it was basically a clapback against bfree.

The beginning of Cypher Pt. 4 is RM mocking the haters. Its the criticisms he received as an idol for not being a good looking enough, or not being good with his diction etc.

RM in Cypher 2 is fire!! When he says "are you ready for the show??" Ya'll we are never ready!! the heat, the bars!! RM's bars and flow switches throughout cypher 1-4 is just wheeww.
Cypher 2 will always be the one that steals the show, because of the real genuine anger that Suga and RM put into it. It was a CLAPBACK against Bfree who basically tried to come after both Suga and RM for leaving underground rap to be idols. Jhope took a step back on that track because it was really for RM and Suga. I don’t know if you really caught the lyrics, but Suga went INN on them. Grown men would cry if he said some of that shit to them. RM brought it with the flow and insane switch ups, and combining that with Suga’s pure savageness in his lyrics it’s safe to say we can all see why Bfree never came at them again. Especially Suga’s “go to Hawaii” which was him telling Bfree to just go back to where he came from because he’ll never be at their level anyway. It’s also a very clear display of what each of them brings to the rapline. RM brings his insane lyricism and GENIUS wordplay, Hobi excels with the flows and the general vibe/style, including his incredible use of the uniqueness of his voice, and Suga brings the speed and the raw, broken down emotion. Each of them is necessary to create the insanity that is the BTS rap line, and they mesh their styles so well together to create masterpieces.
I'm sorry... but may I also point out that RM worked the word Hegemony into his verse. That's freaking impressive! Where my nerds at?? As a bibliophile I got way too excited.
the "bae" in cypher 4. SUNBAE (선배) rom: 'seonbae' a "senior" - someone who has worked/been in the industry or institution longer. a group would call another group that debuted earlier "sunbae" (sunbaenim to be polite)
Supreme Boi was in the original line up for hip-hop group BTS, but decided to drop out when the CEO changed to debut BTS as an idol group. However, he stayed to become one of Bighit's producers.
Regarding J Hopes line of all the girls call him PIPI .. 삐삐 (romanization is pipi or bbibbi) is what Koreans use as like “beep beep” as in a beeper so he’s just saying girls call him a lot.
In cypher pt. 3, The one you thought that it was about American rappers, it wasn't... It was about korean rappers that try to rap in English just to look cool!! Also, I think they came in strong in pt. 2 because it was about this one rapper that insulted RM and Suga and that's why j-hope doesn't have much lines in that one.... The other cyphers were just generally about haters, media and all!! In my opinion it's a story - in the first one, they defend themselves as rappers, in second and third, they attack the lousy rappers that insult them, and in the fourth one, they don't care about haters because they know who they are and confident about themselves and love themselves!!! So, they ask the haters to love themselves (you hate on others coz you are insecure and don't love yourself) If you see this progression, the beat the rap style everything just fits! Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!! Great reaction though, guys!
The cyphers are all on the albums, they are official songs. The first Cypher was released when the group debuted back in 2013. 💜 I love how much you guys were vibing with Jhope in the first cypher, he often gets overlooked cuz back then he was just starting out as a rapper (he only became a rapper once he joined BTS, while Suga and RM were both already rappers a part of the underground hiphop scene), now he's found his niche/style and has the coolest flows. RM is very heavy on worldplay, his lyrics are often entendres and carry more than one meaning. Suga is more straightforward, he's raw and relies a lot on his cadence because of it.
The first time I really fall in love with HOSEOK's rap was in cypher 1 actually. Like I was loving his style but I adore it more in the first cypher (not circle room)

Cypher 3 or cypher in general has nothing to do with American rappers but the people who have been hitting them hard specifically the older korean rapper who outrightly dissed them while they were together in an interview for debuting together with an idol group saying they are not true hiphop artist or true musicians. They pay homage to the rappers who influenced their music. Check HIPHOP LOVER and if you can try to find BORN SINGER an adaptation of JCole's Born Sinner *Also try DDAENG and UGH
I was laughing my butt off when he said Namjoon was slow and ranked 3rd in Cypher 1, I was like "wait till you get to Cypher 2" 😂. In my pov Cypher 1 is J - Hope's, Cypher 2 is Namjoon's and Cypher 3 is Suga's. They let one shine in one song always even in the group performances we can assign a song to a certain member. That's the respect they have for each other. Cypher 4 is the conclusion of the previous 3, like a nice topping on a 3 layered cake. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
And yes this songs are”official” each one of them are part of different BTS albums, the rap line is a unit inside the whole group, so there’s songs for the vocal unit (Jin, Jimin, V & JK) and the rap line (RM, SUGA & J-HOPE) or mixed units and soloist songs of all 7 members inside BTS albums, this way everyone shows their skills and talent
My favorite Cypher is whichever one I'm listening to in the moment. Each if the 3 rappers have their own style and flow so It's always hard for me to choose the member with the best verse, they all take it away somewhere. I lived this reaction, it was fun watching you guys truly enjoying the music.

Randomly came across this video so you might already know this- But yes, Supreme Boi did help produce the cyphers with RM, J-Hope, and Suga. Supreme boi has been friends with RM since the two were in the underground rap scene when they were young. He was also in a team of underground rappers back before he and RM joined BigHit. Supreme boi was in the original lineup of BTS when they were trainees but he decided he was more into being a producer and he joined BigHit's in house production team. He's good friends with all of BTS but he is closer friends with the rapline since he's worked with them and known them longer. Cypher 2 and 3, which others have explained are aimed primarily at a particular rapper- B-Free. He said some really shitty things to them, and pretty much disregarded them as rappers. B-free was problematic anyway, most Korean rappers wanted nothing to do with him. And right before Suga released his D-2 mixtape, B-Free got in trouble again and got sent to jail. ARMYs found this hilarious because of the timing. Anyway, these Cyphers ARE official songs and are on BTS's albums. Cypher 1 was done before they debuted, so it's the oldest. Cypher 2-3 are the ones that most feel are the aggressive ones. But in 4 these guys decided all that aggression wasn't needed, they proved their point so at that point they just pitied these people who constantly try to trash them. So their message to those people was simple - love yourself.
A cypher... in hip hop.. is when artists get together and like rap in turn.. theres usually a roll call in the beginning. Its usually kind of free flow with one building on either the flow or lyrics of the previous. (I hate saying this).. but back in the day..lol... it was how we found out what was new.. someone would have a new beat or flow or something cool. The definition could very well have changed. With BTS I always think of it as a summary of the year and their chance to clap back at the haters or anything really... and each part of the rap line get to show some skills! I appreciate the difference in their styles as well as how well it works together. I always THINK I have a favorite ... then the cypher comes out and I'm like well fuck... I love them all. Lol. I haven't even watched the reaction yet ... u may have figured it out already. 🤷♀️
Suga my fav he’s got uniq voice ..best influence.. genius.. songwriter.. producer..composer.. multitalented..masterpiece.. king swag.. rap god.. fast rapper.. korean eminem 😍🥰🔥🤩💜 Please check ugh.. outro tear.. daeng 😍🙏🏻
They say thankyou to hater sarcastically because haters also make other ppl search up who bts is after probably listening to a diss... And most of the time when haters make diss tracts about BTS they dont comeback cuz BTS influence is very big. So they know if they respond the haters are gonna get more attention and views too.. So they just ignore the disstracks.. Even in these cyphers they never point finger at a certain person.. Its like a general diss.. To everyone
You guys also need to take into account that most of these very loosley "translated" lyrics DO NOT do the artists' lyrical genius justice. Suga is known for his flow/swag/cadence and he is considered a lyrical genius for his wordplay... makes more sense if you understand Korean. He is the one that's frequently compared with Eminem. The way Suga/Agust D. manipulates the beat is insane. You can get a taste of this on his D-2 mixtape... ALL of the tracks were written/composed/produced SOLEY by Suga. RM has an IQ of 148, taught himself English (which is perfect) and his lyrics are insanely complex. He is literally a genius. He went on this Korean TV show called "Problematic Men", which is a show that only invites those that are considered to have genius-level IQ's and RM (being the youngest of the cast) blew the rest out of the water. There was no competition. What would take the few that could even fathom the questions...RM was able to answer even before some the the questions were done being asked. Same as Suga (& j-hope), RM is one of the members that has had a hand in producing all of their albums. Compared to Suga and RM, both of which were already deep into the underground hip-hop scene before their debut, J-Hope had zero experience as a rapper. That fact makes his talents even more impressive....bc he is now considered one of the industry's top hip-hop artists AND he has an impressive number of self produced tracks under his belt. His flow is incredibly unique (due to his Korean accent/different dialect from the rest of the boys) and his delivery is unparalleled. There's a reason why these guys are GLOBALLY ackowledged as the best... not just in "Kpop". Let's also not forget... these guys can also dance.
My personal faves are 2 & 3 of all the cyphers. Recommend you take a looksy at Ddaeng. DKDKTV's explained is a must watch afterwards tho. You'll understand the amazing level of wordplay used in this song stemming from the single word Ddaeng and it's myriad of meanings.
Hobi has flow and style, namjoons has language and wordplay, and yoongi has raw emotions 💜

I recommend showing the guys skool luv affair album of the old n days back in there bad boy era
Just wanna say suga is the killer :v
Cypher Pt 4 is best watched LIVE. For some reason, Cypher Pt 3 was the favorite of most ARMYS, even V's. But my favorite is actually Cypher Pt 2.
My favorite is cypher pt.3 as well but I love cypher pt.2 as well though. Those two are definitely my favorite.
listen to more songs from the rap line, like:
-UGH!
-1 Verse (jhope)
-Ddaeng
- base line (jhope)
-AGUST D (suga)
-You do (RM)
-Outro: tear
👍👍
You should react to cypher medley live. It was amazing
You should watch their live performance of all four cyphers where they were all wearing white from their 2017 tour in Korea I think or Japan I forget
You guys need to check bts ugh and their other dong ddaeng
And there's live performance where the vocal line is rapping ddaeng
Suga my fav he’s got uniq voice ..best influence.. genius.. songwriter.. producer..composer.. multitalented..masterpiece.. king swag.. rap god.. fast rapper.. korean eminem 😍🥰🔥🤩💜
Please check ugh.. outro tear.. daeng 😍🙏🏻
yall should see what jhope says bout joons girl in converse high
yall should watch yoongis verse in Cypher 2 live
I will ALWAYS have to let my guy in the middle with the red hat know that he’s soooo cute!!🥰😍 He stay looking good!😉😉
They say thankyou to hater sarcastically because haters also make other ppl search up who bts is after probably listening to a diss... To everyone
With the exception being Cypher 2... we all know who should be going back to Hawaii... 😉💜
I hope you react to the Cypher Medley!
Thanks for reacting to my boys!! Definitely watch squid game
You guys should check the live performance of cyphers .
Do ddaeng pls
