Who works from home most of the time, managed to back up most of the film's work files on her personal HDD and managed to carefully give it to Pixar and copy most of the files they needed. Or whenever you change from one big expression to another. Now for the master class, add a tilt down to the head during the blink to really sell the idea. You might think that this seems excessive for a simple concept. But fam, it makes the character so much more alive with these small details.

Pretty cool. The original 1987 Robocop had the same movement with the chest turning first followed by the head. Granted it wasn’t all the time and not because of motion capture but a really neat detail that presents power and confidence. The last comment about how “he doesn’t need to look at you, he’s gonna kick your ass” is so true for both Robocop and Iron man!

To me personally i think there is a logical reason to move the body first is that you could charge the weapons first and then perform target aquisition to reduce the shooting time
I always thought that was a nod to Peter Weller as Robocop. Motion capture is an actor and a director working together to create and do service to the character. It's not like it's a machine making it. Not diminishing animators at all as making something look heroic and have that perfect superhero silhouette isn't going to come across the same in pcap.
This is the stuff that a lot of corporate artforms (mainly marvel movies) dont do anymore. Hire ARTISTS. Not just people who can slap a couple assets and some mocap into a 3d program and hit export.
It's honestly a really cool detail only a professional could make.
