I liked that the Talisman levels' maps were designs to represent the level. Shady Oasis was one of the fruit trees in it, Fracture Hills was a Satyr with bagpipes, etc..
Original soundtrack >>>> remastered soundtrack I've played the trilogy 3 years ago for the first time it's not a nostalgia In the original the samples and instruments are more unique and it's hit the tone hard like " TE TA TO" but the remaster hit it so soft like "WE WA WO"( I hope someone can understand this weird explain) and this makes it so atmospheric that i can listen to it outside the game Actually I don't hate it that much but the original is way better
Some iconic samples were outright removed or butchered, like the A No Way groaning in Magma Cone. They got an actual person to recreate the sound since I guess they couldn’t find the sample, and it sounds awful, like someone is sick or something. 😆 I just leave it on the original soundtrack because that’s why I’m a fan, or at least the main reason I’m a Spyro fan is the iconic imaginative music. The reignited soundtrack is not as powerful sounding to me, they mostly just sound like lofi remixes to me, but that’s just my opinion.
@DoofenSpyroDragon16 it's not a bad soundtrack but it's nothing like the original except for the magma cone it's awful it's agony to listen to What a disappointment for one of the best spyro music ever In fact every spyro music is one of the best 😂😂😂
Steward Copeland (the drummer of The Police) made the music for the original trilogy. Of course the music from the remakes are overshadowed by the originals.
Picking up Spyro Reignited Trilogy over the original Spyro trilogy reminds me of the videogame equivalent of hangin' out with a group of friends discussing where they should get pizza and being like: "Anything will be fine for me, you choose", which doesn't help with taking any decision.
Spyro 1 does have an auto-hover in case you were wondering. It’s hit or miss, sometimes it’s more harmful than not, like the game will hover too soon and cause you to fall to your death, but other times it’s genuinely helpful. (Also I genuinely wanna find out how to get that scorched grass glitch, it honestly looks cool to me lol)
What I miss about the original trilogy was the skyboxes, the satisfying audio of clashes when getting gems, hunter wasn't a dorky surfer dude and some of the enemies look way different than what I imagined. Like what they did to the guys in Colossus. However these are all nitpicky nostalgic things, the reignited improved soooo much over the originals including more fleshed out worlds and visuals. Spyro was my childhood and it pains me to say that, although I do love retro gaming and polygons are my favourite. I'm going to 112% complete the reignited trilogy again starting today as I've been burnt out trying to get through jrpgs and a plethora of PS5 titles. My goal is to play reignited trilogy and then whip out my anbernic and have a retro gaming month. Maybe finally play the romhack Pokemon emerald Seaglass that just released. Thank you for making this video and for your opinion on the subject.
Yes. What holds back the PS1 originals is the 30fps framerate cap, camera and control. Meanwhile i play the remakes with unlocked framerate on PC. But there is a huge flaw with the remakes, the music is so overshadowed by the originals (specially Spyro 3). Compare Midnight Mountain, Spooky Swamp and Agent 9 from the remakes vs Steward Copeland from the PS1 games, night&day difference.
I honestly think the remakes did the originals justice, almost nothing was done worse than the originals aside from the controls in the flight levels. Spyro just feels heavier in those for whatever reason. But thats a minor nitpick imo. I loved that we got the choice to use the original soundtrack, even though the remastered soundtrack is very well done. Also interesting that you have mostly the same opinions on which games are the best as i do lol. I like the first and third games the most, and the 2nd is my least favorite. I actually didnt mind the other playable characters too much, aside from Bentley. I just felt he was a little too basic compared to the others, they didnt even take advantage of his ability to reflect projectiles outside his home level.
I make my defense for Spyro Adventure (Attack of the Rynocs), while unconventional compared to the more straightforward Season of Flame is still a solid Spyro handheld. Every other bad game you mentioned can burn though.
I feel like they’re both great on their own. Obviously the remaster is better graphics wise, but you cannot deny the charm of the original. If anything, I didn’t like how detailed every NPC and enemy became. Some of them went from something extremely cute and intriguing to, something with way too many details. If I had a PS2 I would most likely play the originals more than the remaster, but the remaster gets the Spyro itch scratched for me without complaint
I have the Platinum trophy for all 3 of the Spyro remasters on PS4 they are fantastic games and so much better than the originals. The speedway levels were seriously annoying Spyro 1 is by far the hardest game in the trilogy with Spyro 3 being the easiest and best and Spyro 2 is awesome
I would argue that the inherent value of playing old games is based on the method: 60fps hacks are better than basic emulation, but Fan Fixes are better than 60 fps hacks, but Rom Hacks are better than fan fixes, but Decompilations can offer the most. I would boot up classic crash for sure, but id be more likely to try Crash 2.5 Mechanical Mayhem. But Sypro? As an OG ps1 fan who hasnt touched it in forever no difference really ruined it for me. I would however play MR F01 effort to fix year of the dragonfly, which fixes 100+ bugs That doesnt excuse the clear lack of polish and extra animation effort put in the two sequel remasters.
I apologize if I missed this, but what version were you playing? I have this game on both my PS4 and Switch, have played both far more than I should admit as someone in his 30's, and have NEVER seen those bugs happen.
This was the Xbox version. I had also never seen any bugs like these ones in my previous playthroughs of Reignited, but I’m glad they waited for my recorded playthrough to show up!
@@Torran2Glitchy lol Fair, and I can somehow believe it would be the XBox that did the weird stuff, since it's basically a pre-built PC, so it's gonna have PC level weirdness at times. I say this as someone who still adores their XBox systems. lol
I've noticed you would talk about a crash game, then a spyro game. But now all the spyro games are done and there's like, four more crash Games. What are you gonna do about that?
I do have something that will fill in Spyro’s slot in the schedule, and the first couple rotations will feature Spyro so he’s not done yet! I think I’ll keep it a surprise though :]
Except for one glaring issue with Reignited; there's only really one game out of the three available on the disc whereas the other two require an day one patch to download, so if you don't have a good network connection of any kind....you're fucked. So really, it's not as accessible as it should've been.
The originals are so old now, even if reignited does some things worser like The voice acting being better in the original, i still rather play this over the old ones as it looks way more modern
dang someone sure watched a lot of Square Eyed Jak, because that's what this video felt like, i don't understand how you went from saying spyro a hero's tail was a good game, and some of the hand helds were also good just too show later and say they were the bad games ... also the legend of spyro games are meant too be treated like it's own thing and not a follow up from the classic timeline, all 3 games have a nice story, but a lot of people enjoyed it's beat em up style and never played the OG 3 games, i'm not a legend of spyro fan but i sure got a little annoyed when you said them games were bad, they arn't buggy or glitchy bad, they just arn't what i'm used to, heck the fan base from classic or legend of spyro we all agree cynder was a good character that they had designed so much she was given a reignited design inside artwork even got her own sparx design, even adult spyro was given a reignited design, where he looks more like the dragon elder's from the first game, but dang you sure weren't hopeful for a new game because there is a new one in the works being made by toys for bob, the same people who made the reignited trilogy, it's just not announced properly yet with a fancy trailer, and if you don't believe me, go look at all the dang hints and spyro references they keep posting and Canadian guy eh has covered a lot of stuff regarding a brand new spyro 4 (not enter of the dragonfly) and all the job listings and hints that have came out, the latest post of them talking about going indie they have a spyro tease in there as well, and it's the year of the dragon now's the perfect time, my hopes is the game award's where one will be announced properly
It’s a possibility but I can’t see it happening anytime soon. I have one Skylanders game with some figures and the funky portal thing, but I think doing the whole series will end up being expensive so I can’t promise anything
I liked that the Talisman levels' maps were designs to represent the level. Shady Oasis was one of the fruit trees in it, Fracture Hills was a Satyr with bagpipes, etc..

13:38 This comparison of Spyro 3 to crossbreading dogs is astonishing accurate.

I would say yes too.... if they never changed the Colossus monk chant! 😂😢
I didn't think that the Crash remakes were better i just wanted to play the originals and the gameboy advance games to get the full experience

My only exposure to spyro so far was a crash bandicoot 3 bloopers vid from like 15 years ago where crash had to marry spyro or something…
I apologize if I missed this, but what version were you playing? I have this game on both my PS4 and Switch, have played both far more than I should admit as someone in his 30's, and have NEVER seen those bugs happen.

I played on pc and ps4 and the only big bug I ran into was sparks not picking up gems.

Hilarious copy....really funny video. Thank you. subbd.
thank you!
"hot dragon daddies" I agree with you
Cool video
Spyro 4 was flawed compared to the original 3, but I still really liked it as a kid. Haha.
No where near
No.
