I have a cb400ss,it was hard to find in 🇬🇧,had a full twin exhaust in stainless made up with triumph 1000cc cans, the xr400 engine difference is,carburettor, exhaust valves are 1mm bigger, the piston is a higher compression one,it also has a decomp system ,and the camshaft is different!👍

I have a Genuine G400c and it’s incredible. It gets more attention than my Transalp and is an absolute joy to ride. I’ve put about 12,000 miles on it and haven’t had any issues so far and doing preventative maintenance on it is a breeze. I love the damn thing!

CL400 was better than the CB in my opinion. It was almost the same bike with the same engine, but unlike this street version, the CL400 was a factory built scrambler. I was really considering buying one from one of the Japanese auctions, but it's really rare and hard to find. CB version is more common.

Currently have Cafe 400 from Motorstar. It's like maintaining a bigger Kawasaki Barako or TMX 155. Very easy and cheap. The bike will take you anywhere at reasonable speeds and the seating position is very comfortable even for long rides. There are tons of customization and personality looking at the bikes from pics from owners at fb group. I hope you find an onwer in Cebu and somewhere nearby who'll be willing to lend you the bike.

i love mine so far. been more than a year of daily commute with no problems so far. it's hella tough and easy to maintain. it has sufficient power too that could get you out of sketchy situations or to simply overtake. been planning to build mine into a scrambler or maybe a full cafe racer.

This is what the Chinese Shineray xy400 is a (near) copy of. Known as Mash 400 in Europe, Mercury 400 in Australia, Bullet 400 in Eastern Europe/Russia, and I know there's a few versions in America too.
I can't speak to performance, however it is visually very similar, the main difference being the engine, which is actually a modified (possibly even licensed?) Copy of either a TRX400, or a modifed XR400 engine, with CB400SS features.
I have heard some good things about the Chinese copy, and what it lacks in any modernity and grace, it makes up for in affordability (plus fully interchangeable with Honda parts). For some reason it uses a carburettor designed for 350cc engines though, which is unusual.
I'm turning mine into a 440cc big bore racing bike. The internals will be mostly Honda, the outside will be Chinese, it should end up a pretty decent and very cheap bike (still well under $2k so far)

They say there would be a honda GB750 that almost has the same design with cb. But it looked so bulky

So motorstar cafe400 did copy this bike. I didn't know that until this video.

That must be the one I referred to in my comment. It's actually a Shineray XY400, Chinese generic copy with a 4-wheeler engine modified into a CB400SS bootleg.

@@cellanimation 4 wheeler? you mean Honda's TRX400EX? Cause that and the XR400 share the same engine.

@lithium7590 Very similar. Different air intake diameter (35mm vs 36mm) and electric starter is built into it

The cl500 or the gb350 is the closest you can get, unfortunately
