To me, Bridgerton is basically just set in an Alternate Universe. That immediately stops me from questioning the diversity of the cast, because it makes sense now: Regency romance set in an alternate universe where skin colors don't matter and everything is 10x times more extravagant.

Simone Ashley as Kate is without a doubt the highlight of this season for me. Shes so complex and you root for her because she really has a good heart and means well even if misunderstood sometimes. The chemistry between her and Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony is unmatched and top 10 for me. They carried this season.
The best part of them watching a show like Bridgerton is how there's nothing really complicated about it so they can just sit down for an hour and enjoy it for what it is. Don't get me wrong I loved their discussion and theories in shows more twisted and tricky like GoT, The Expanse, Mob Psycho 100, FMA: Brotherhood, HofD, Westworld, Arcane etc... BUT it's always nice seeing them THIS relaxed and "unbothered" by what's happening. And tbh I stayed here for the last 6-7 years because I really like them as people, and without knowing it they helped me during many tough times so it's not just about reactions. I know many people don't like Bridgerton - which is totally fair - but to me is just another reason to smile and have a good laugh when I truly needed it.
Their utter entertainment at everything going on onscreen in Bridgerton is super fun. And it's not done in a demeaning way too, which is really lovely - you just know most other yt reactors would take the chance to put down stuff they see in Bridgerton, but the Blindwave crew just rolls with it.
That is the best commercial I’ve seen for that company on RUclips. Proves my point that the guys are hot in those outfits. Blindwave Bridgerton Universe anyone?

I'm not even a huge Bridgerton fan but I love this reaction and will so be watching. I love that you're not afraid to do this type of content, god I wish reactions were a thing in like 2010 so could have pushed Downton Abbey haha. Anyway keep up the good stuff! :)
LOVE that Erik already picked up on the "Helpless"/"Satisfied" parallels. And speaking of music...I find the constant Jane Austen comparisons in reviews more insulting than anything else, but "Material Girl" playing in the background when the Sharma's enter the ball is the closest the show has come to having Austen's sense of humor. "Duke who?!" was definitely my reaction two seconds into Simone Ashley's first appearance. For me the duke was the only draw of S1 but I LOVED all of S2 unironically. Casual reminder: POC didn't just magically show up in England in the 1950's, by the Regency era people of African and Asian descent had been living in England for centuries. But did they populate the nobility the way they do in Bridgerton? No, of course not. There were a few notable exceptions (Queen Charlotte *was* actually one of those exceptions), but for the most part racism kept non-white people in the merchant class or well below the poverty line. But in the Bridgerton universe, yeah, I have no problem turning off my brain and enjoying the diverse cast without asking Serious Questions.
fun fact Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) is also a voice actor in the critically acclaimed MMO RPG Final Fantasy 14 and he is an incredible voice actor. I actually had a major crush on his in game character then watched Bridgerton and immediately connected the dots XD
The absolute JOY I felt seeing this pop up! I wasn’t sure you guys were going to do season 2 and that season 1 was just a one and done thing. Glad to be wrong! It’s just nice to see guys watch the show and seem to like it to some extent! Also I wouldn’t say season 1 “celebrated” the way women were treated at the time personally😅

Couple of things: 1) White dresses and feathered headdresses were indeed the proper garb for the presentation of debutants, as was dressing in pale colors. 2) Canes and walking sticks - you should have them! They often concealed sword sticks in case you were set upon by thieves. 3) When Anthony is scratching names off his list, one of them is Miss Quinn and another is Lady Julia. Just a little nod to Julia Quinn the author of the Bridgerton books.

I just love every time you guys react to this show. yeah Bridgerton is alternate history fantasy, but I especially love that its a period piece that has colorfulness to it, I feel like a lot of historical stories have that same gray, blue, muted palette and I love the colorfulness and brightness of the setting too
Nicola Coughlan (Penelope/Whistledown) is from Galway. She is in the show Derry Girls. She is using a slightly stronger version of her natural Irish accent, but it's definitely not a Derry accent which is markedly different.
