You’re so beautiful and so sweet and you’re an amazing teacher I wish I had you as my teacher in America cuz I’m freshman hight school n my teachers are nothing like u 🖤🖤🖤 please post more
Nice video Felicia. I taught at a hagwon in Jeomchon, Gyeongsangbuk-do for a year and a half, and thinking about heading back to Korea mid-year. Watching some of your footage made me feel nostalgic.
It is definitely a lot to juggle but I'm really glad the semester is ending in a couple of weeks! Crossing my fingers that it will change next semester haha Thank you so much for watching! I'm glad that it could give you some insight about teaching at multiple schools! Happy Holidays! :)
@@happy.felicia I’m glad I found this video. I have to ask: do you teach in all those schools and does this mean more money for you? Wow! Those cut out flowers are beautiful…
@@TerryFreak389 hi! Thank you for enjoying the video! In an EPIK contract you get an extra multiple school allowance, so for 3 and more schools you receive an extra 150,000 won total. Hope this answers your question!
I love both Jeonju and Iksan, they are both pretty awesome places to be in. Not too big, not too small. Could be a possibility that we've taught the same students, I keep getting shuffled around to many different schools each semester haha
Thank you!! It is quite the experience! It's quite easy to get a car in Korea, there are plenty of Facebook pages with car dealers that speak English and help to find the car you want! I did a lot of research and saved for a couple of months to get the car I wanted :)
this situation was the fall semester of 2020, due to COVID, there were a shortage of teachers because Jeonbuk wasn't hiring. Back in February, new teachers were able to come fill in the vacant positions, and I think hiring has resumed back to normal :)
EPIK wants to send my daughter to Jeonbuk but we don’t much about it. We thought she’d go to Daegu. What’s the difference between jeonbuk and jeonju. Is Jeonbuk super remote?
Hello! First, congratulations to your daughter for getting an EPIK position! Jeonbuk is one of the provinces of Korea and its capital city is Jeonju. Jeonju, Iksan, and Gunsan are the biggest cities in the province. The rest of the cities or towns will vary in size and may be super remote. If your daughter is placed in one of these areas, she will most likely be a traveling teacher, living in "downtown" of the city and commuting to multiple schools. Jeonbuk is about 2.5 hours from Seoul by bus. If she's lucky enough to live in Jeonju or Iksan, travelling to other parts of Korea will be quite easy. :) hope this helps!
Hi! How long have you had 7 different schools to teach at? 😲 When I was in Korea with EPIK they assigned me just one school to teach at, haha... I’d actually never heard of anyone teaching at more than 3. Does that get stressful at all? Also, are all the schools you teach at public schools through EPIK? Or do you teach at Hagwons as well? Sorry if you explained that in the video, I just wasn’t sure if I was understanding or not
Hey! Thanks for watching 😊 All my schools are through EPIK and I've been in 7 schools only since September, although it feels like way longer haha its definitely overwhelming, but I've managed to stay positive most days. 😊 Due to COVID, my province was unable to hire enough teachers to fill all positions so in the city I teach, that left us with 10 remaining EPIK teachers to cover about 75 schools. So we got shuffled around and placed in 7 schools. Crossing my fingers this changes in the upcoming semester! 🤞🏼
@@happy.felicia WOW, ok, so it’s because of COVID... I gotcha. Honestly, in my opinion, they should maybe think about hiring qualified Koreans who are fluent in English to fill these empty EPIK positions... If foreign EPIK teachers are in short supply because of COVID then they should do what they need to do. I think asking 10 foreign teachers to cover 75 schools is kinda crazy when there’s surely Koreans who could help fill that gap... But good for you taking it like a champ!! 💪💪
Teaching at 7 different schools is so hectic! Are your students allowed to speak Korean during class time? Maybe public schools are way more lenient than academies.
Hello! I do think that public schools are a bit more lenient compared to academies... my students are allowed to speak Korean in the class, but typically when doing activities or communicating with me they try to use as much English as possible.

This is so good! We’re moving to Korea to teach In February too so this has been super interesting. Thank you!
Oh congratulations! It's always nice hearing about new teachers coming :) Will you both be teaching through EPIK?
@@happy.felicia thank you! Yeah we’re going to be teaching in Incheon 😃
Jeonju’s a great city. Plus i used to live in Iksan. Maybe we’ve taught some of the same students
