Really good video. I followed the steps and have successfully changed my father in law's mac battery. He's happy as uses it for work and I've learnt a new skill. One word of warning, I used an opening tool with a slight pointed end and, without knowing, cut into the battery packaging whilst trying to get the glue seal off. It smelled chemical and the battery started to heat up. Its outside now pending further investigation
Glad it helped. You'll want to take the battery to an ewaste place. Throwing it in the trash could cause a fire. As an alternative you could smash it up until it burns up completely. Lol jk Don't do that.
Thank you! I thought I had the wrong part because I mistook the trackpad cable for the power cable. This cleared it up and I was able to complete my replacement.

Thanks very much. Your video helped tremendously. Better than the instructions that came with the battery. One issue though. Your video says remove track pad first, but I could see how. After replacing the battery my track pad didn't work. I then opened the back up again disconnected and reconnected the track pad cable and it works better, but as soon as I touch the track pad with my fingers it double clicks all the time. Any suggestions?
You likely damaged the trackpad and will need to replace it. Check the cable connection to the battery first.
I like how Apple went through all this trouble to make replacing something like a battery turn into a living nightmare. I get that they're demotivating customers from repairing their own devices, but this is just ridiculous lmao.
Yeah...
Exactly! So much for the days of moving a slider and the battery pops out. New PCs are fairly easy. Although you usually have take out a lot of screws and the top or bottom cover. At least I haven't found any PCs with adhesive under their batteries. They always use 2 to 5 screws.

I when I pull the blue the laptop dies… any ideas? Suggestions?
Likely the ribbon cable isn't being reinstalled properly.
Great video, just replacing the thin wire at the end is a real hussle. Can't get it into the slots, is there a trick???
Not really. Maybe you can take out the adhesive
How do you put the super tiny screws back? I find that it keep flipping to the side on the “screwdriver” tip. Thanks!
Magnetized the screwdriver tip by rubbing it on a strong magnet.
How do I know which battery in specific is the correct one? Do you have that information? (I have a MacBook Pro mid 2017)
What's your MacBook model number?
Love the business name

can you show a video of putting back the left end of the black ribbon on(starting around 2:40)? My ribbon has a metal piece on the left end. I think I'd need to stick it on top of the screw on the left end. But there's no way to stick it. Do I need to use some glue? Right now, my new battery still cannot be detected on my mac.
Thanks!
Just do it in reverse. Latch up, put it on, latch down. I don't know what you mean by metal. You don't use glue. It has a slot with a latch.
What kind of brand for the battery do you think works best for this kind of battery replacement on amazon?

Is the trackpad also not working? To might have damaged the trackpad, not connected it properly, or damaged the keyboard cable.
Trackpad is working but not the keyboard. Is the trackpad and keyboard ribbon the same?
@MarcCamaligan different, but Apple disables the keyboard if the trackpad is faulty.

Very informative video. I wish you could have taken out the battery and showed where the vents (?) are in middle section
that lead to the trackpad, I loosened up the battery in the middle and was very careful yet scraped up the cable and clip for the trackpad ( cable fitting that’s part of the trackpad motherboard - ? Is that the right term ?). I had to order another trackpad and cable and install that before I could use the computer.
Was there any way to unscrew the supports for the trackpad and take it out and unclip it? It might seem unnecessary but for me it could have saved me some extra $ doing this project. Not to complain, I just hope someone else will not do the same thing
I have other videos showing that.

You need to buy a replacement cable. Do not glue it.
The cable is replaceable. Battery doesn't come with it.
Can the MacBook Pro be used without battery connected, but just charged? I tried but I’m getting flashing folder icon upon booting
The question mark means the SSD doesn't have an OS or is defective or not detected.

A few days back my MacBook pro model A1706 started to face problems like for the first time when I plugged the USB C port in, it took a few seconds to show that its charging. After a couple of days the same thing happened and it took more than 10-15 minutes. Later it took hours to show and the beep sound which signifies that it's charging. Two days earlier the battery got completely drained out and then ITS NOT CHARGING at all.
This unit is fully fresh although its older. Everything was still functional except for long time use screen gets grey-ish which is pretty much common in MacBook pro I guess. Also my charger is working fine as whenever I touch the surface of the laptop I can feel a little shock sensation. And now I am so worried what should I do. I don't wanna go to the service center for some bucks. I believe the battery is okay but you know better what actually happened.
