It’s one of the things that made him so dangerous. He’d run straight at you, full tilt, ball glued to his feet, make the defender pick a side. And once you did, he was gone, looking for the next defender to make look like an idiot, or burying it past the keeper

The only answer to him was the laws of physics as his speed and power and most significantly, how fast he changed direction, literally broke his body. His knee injuries were primarily caused by Osgood-Schlatter disease and his style of play which basically put so much stress on his knee tendons, they were literally ripped off his shin. Yet he has a highlight reel like this. Without question, the greatest striker we’ve ever seen.

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000swith no internet, getting the chance to watch Brazil on the tv was rare. Only really got to see them in world cups, but when you did it was an experience. The yellow blue and white kit, the players and the way they played the game was magical. This man took it to another level. I was absolutely amazed by him and them Brazil teams, never felt like that about an international team since. Ronaldo, dunga, Denilson, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Nothing but pure talent and I’m glad I was around to see it. Brazil will never be the same again.

Don’t think people realise just how fast he was. This is professional footballers he’s doing this to. Sitting down the best defenders in history. The only answer to him was the laws of physics as his speed and power and most significantly, how fast he changed direction, literally broke his body. His knee injuries were primarily caused by Osgood-Schlatter disease and his style of play which basically put so much stress on his knee tendons, they were literally ripped off his shin. Yet he has a highlight reel like this. Without question, the greatest striker we’ve ever seen.

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000swith no internet, getting the chance to watch Brazil on the tv was rare. Only really got to see them in world cups, but when you did it was an experience. The yellow blue and white kit, the players and the way they played the game was magical. This man took it to another level. I was absolutely amazed by him and them Brazil teams, never felt like that about an international team since. Ronaldo, dunga, Denilson, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Nothing but pure talent and I’m glad I was around to see it. Brazil will never be the same again.
