I have been working on a baby quilt for my great nephew. My nephew and his wife have been married for 20 years and had never been able to conceive. And then "surprise"! I finished the quilt and got it in the mail just in time for Baby Evan to be born. He is 2 days old today. He has 5 female cousins (all sisters) who are ready and waiting to spoil him. Everyone is so excited for them. My nephew and wife are extremely happy. I am glad I was able to make him something special. I'm also working on some burp cloths and another quilt. He has to have a Texas Tech quilt. lol. Thanks for letting me share.

This summer so far, I'm in the process of crocheting a few stuffed animals, a bag, a blanket, a scarf, a couple of hats and more! I really would love to have a loom! The main reason is so I could make even more things so people can experience the joy of getting home-made/hand-made things! I love to crochet and I think I would probably like looming as much!

I am a quilter and have always loved your quilting videos but do to my own chemotherapy and cancer treatments o have been unable to quilt and watched your video on the Loom hat and thought what a great idea for a great cause and it was something I could relax and lay down and work on when not feeling good and also on chemo days. I love your quilting video series your doing and keep the great videos coming! Thanks!! Tom

I made a crochet baby blanket for my little cousin with the Bernant Baby yarn and he LOVES it!!! My 10 year old granddaughter Lily and I had lots of fun sewing up a total of seven zipper pouches. While of course we made ourselves each one, the rest went to my three daughters (her mom and two aunts). The three girls were headed off for a sister cruise to celebrate the youngests 27th birthday. They loved their bags. The best part was Lily learned how to work with zippers. She has been sewing for about a year now and really loves it. These bookmarks are great. They are surely something we can put together with the couple weeks we have left before school starts and she can bring some to friends at school. Thanks Melanie.

This summer I moved from Missouri to California and we reunited with my husband after 9 long months. During the separation (military related not personal lol) I taught myself to crochet and my favorite crafty projects, after setting up our new home, have been a baby blanket for a friend expecting and coasters and placemats for our home. I am making kitty toys now for my daughter who's getting a kitten and then I'm going to start some baby items for my 1st grandbaby due in March. I've been restoring a quilt my grandmother made for a cousin for her 1980 high school graduation. My cousin lives in New Orleans and went through Katrina. The quilt didn't fare well at all. Her sister got it and secretly has asked me if I could mend it. I've never done anything like it before, but am so happy with how it's turning out. It's been loads of tedious work, but all that's left is to finish up the backing/binding. Can't wait to hear her reaction to it!

It is from a collection of her t-shirts which she has accumulated from dance, soccer, skiing, cheerleading, camp and a new one from the college she will be attending. Hi Melanie, I love this video! Such a neat idea! I been keeping so busy this summer. My favorite craft projects to do in the summer are things that allow you to be outside. I have re-done a dresser for the first time, made a chickenwire frame, I have also recently gotten into decorating my Erin Condren planner quite a bit. I've been learning basket weaving this summer, of all things, lol. It's really kind of difficult to learn when there are so few resources - youtube just doesn't have much going on for tutorial videos about baskets. My mom has also been learning this, and she has excelled at it, so she's been helping me to learn and it's actually been really nice to have something we can do together.
I actually was just trying to find a nice bookmark recently, either to buy or make, and I couldn't find anything that I liked. I'm really glad that I saw your video, because this is going to be perfect. I have a ton of scraps that I can choose from to make one of these (or 2 or 3 - I usually have several books that I switch between at any given time). Thanks for posting!

Love your tutorials, thanks! I just started learning to quilt & love it. This summer I will be practicing my skills making small projects for swaps for my online quilting community, but the one easy project I'm working on is making a big stack of 5" to 10" soft flannel hearts to donate to a Neonatal ICU (NICU) in an Iowa hospital. They use these for the preemie babies to lay on after their moms use them. It helps the babies be close to their moms when the moms can't be there since they will be scented like their moms. I have been a nurse for over 30 years & spent many years working in the NICU & think this is the best idea ever to share my love for sewing with those sweet little bundles of love. ♡ Keep sharing your awesome videos Melanie!

Hi Melanie. This summer, I've been working on a trio of cross stitch birth samplers for friends who recently had babies. For my first project, I did an elaborate jungle season with elephants and giraffes to match a nursery theme. For my second baby, I pulled out an '80s-style pattern used by my mother-in-law for her own grandchildren, and for the third project, I made a owl-inspired, bedtime-themed sampler. Lots of work, but handmade gifts are the best gifts! Love to try my hand at loom knitting next! :)

I love these bookmarks. They're super cute and fun. I've been quite busy making smocks for my Oma (grandma) and a bunch of baby kits for friends that have recently had babies. Includes, blankets, onesies, caps, and stuffed toys.

I have made a baby blanket which I did after watching your crochet baby blanket tutorial, and I'm currently working on a granny square blanket. I have also done a few hats on my loom.

Super! Now I know what to do with my scraps. I've wanted to learn to use free motion & not really knowing how to use it. Thanks Melanie. This summer my favorite project has been to improve my crochet & I've been working on several small projects.

I've veered from sewing and crafting and have started working on going through old pictures (back to the 70s!) to scan and organize. Not sure if that would qualify for the drawing, but I'm having fun! This project looks like a fun one!

I've been working on teaching my 8 year old daughter how to sew. She's made a doll pillow and designed and sewed her own purse! She wants to sew just like her mama. 😉 I also de-flapped a Ju-Ju-Be Be All. It wasn't easy but after three months of work I finally finished it today!!

This summer I've been crocheting lots of amigurumi animals as well as trying out new patterns like baby sandals or little towels to bathe them with. I've really tested my crocheting skills with these new patterns so i feel extremely happy about how they have been coming out:)

Love all your videos! They are really easy to follow and I just started sewing in January of this year. My summer project has been making burp cloths for my daughter. I might try and tackle a minky blanket (from your tutorial) but minky seems intimidating. Thanks for inspiring me and others to tap into our creativity
