Liking everyone in a group should be hako oshi(箱推し), as the box(箱) means a container, referring to the live house that contains the idol group performs in. From there, hako stretches it’s meaning to the group or company. In terms of DD, it is not limited to just supporting a certain group, but basically anyone you met and subscribes to.

To add, when someone is your oshi, you like them so much that you want to recommend them (push) to other people.
      Example:
"My oshi is V-chan." = "I like V-chan and want to you to like her too."
On a side note, I think "DD" is boomer lingo and it origin is an insult especially from back in the day where a true fan should only like their one and only. The better term to express your love for everyone in a group is "Hako Oshi" or just to simply say you like idols in general.

I forgot who but someone in Hololive EN answered this I believe. I think some agencies don’t require you to know fluent Japanese, but it’s going to be really helpful if you do; especially if the agency is based in Japan. You’ll probably also have a higher chance of being accepted into an agency if you can speak Japanese/another language over someone who can’t (as for most jobs)

    • @livedandletdie
      @livedandletdie Год назад +1

It helps but it isn't strictly required.
There are after all, non‐Japanese V-tuber agencies out there.
Learning other languages does indeed serve useful in applying though. It's also a good thing in general to learn a new language in the first place. After all the more people you can speak with, the more interesting stuff you can learn.
Oh and I say this as someone who speaks several languages already, but if you go abroad it can be a life saver if you speak the regional language.
Not everyone speaks English in the world. My parents doesn't speak English, I mean they can somewhat get by, but they're not even A level.
I myself have been able to speak English for the past 22 years now.
So for me it's easy, however learning a new language isn't exactly hard, it's just time consuming. However if you can spread out the studying sessions a bit then it's going to be easier on you.
You don't need more than perhaps 10 minutes per day of practice, and you'd see clear results within perhaps 30 days.
Let us say that you're going to learn Hiragana, then if you spend lets say ten minutes the first day learning like ten of the symbols lets say you learn あいうえおらりるれろ a i u e o ra ri ru re ro then another day you learn the next set of kana, and lets say you practice 5 minutes the next day to see how many you remember and then you continuously add more and keep on trying to do refreshing until you feel you got the hang of it, then you can begin with kanji I'd say look up the 1000 most common kanji and you could also learn katakana... then you can slowly build up an understanding of kanji and you can slowly add more and more kanji to your repertoire of learned kanji. Still always doing refreshers every now and then to make sure you remember, and after a while you will have learned Japanese.
Sorry for the wall of text.

not mentioned, but some terms like oshi/dd are borrowed from idol culture as well. it's why you see some companies seem "idol like" such as hololive. of course you dont have to entirely follow what has become the "norm" but it's still cool to know the history of it

In Japanese, this just means sound, but for UTAU user, it becomes a verb to describe the act of adjusting voicebanks settings

    • @HunterTracks

Dunno about Korean, but a big issue with Japanese is that they've decided that only having a single alphabet is cringe, so they're using three. Goddamn it Japan, it was already difficult enough when you nabbed literally the most complicated alphabet ever conceived by a human mind!

I, personally, use the qwerty keyboard that automatically translates letters into hiragana (and other characters, but I only use hiragana for now). I find it's easier to type Japanese like this when English is your mother language.
