It was the saddest page in the book and the saddest scene in the movie. Thomas knew it was what Newt wanted and that he had to do this one last favor for him. As much as it hurt him he knew that Newt had trusted him to make sure he never hurt anyone again. RIP Newt.

I was just like"OMG!!!WHAT JUST HAPPENED"and then realize there is no need to kill Newt did if you already watch the Scorch Trials you will notice that Thomas is immune and Mary said that the cure needs to be harvested from the immune not manufactured will she's curing Brenda and probably Thomas as there and he probably see the procedure on how to harvest the cure from his body in that way he can still cure Newt,somehow but this is the plot "Newt is asking for death from Thomas".But I'm not saying that I don't care.

Honestly, I want to see Newts Death just like it was in the books. Yeah, it's very depressing and sad, but I think it was still beautiful in some way.
