24017 - Model Text Void on Curved Wall

  • A quick, simple exercise about a model text void on a curved wall. The tricky part is how to avoid getting that 'Can't cut joined element' problem.

    Interesting … but I have some questions and remarks:
    * why didn’t u just cut one geometry from the other , or made the face based as a void in the second case in stead of join then hide ?
    * it looks like Revit extrudes always perpendicular to the letters surface and not normal to the “host” surface (the wall) !
    * when you made the family as one word revit orients the entire word according to the justification of the whole word left, middle, right
    But when you place letter by letter, so revit orient every letter according to the justification of each letter = if you look from up you can see the parts of the wall in between the letters are not parallel in the second case (which is more right)

      Can we use Cut Geometry for this? I don't think we can.
      Maybe in the future we can create a curved model text to fit the wall.

    Great job! Air as material does not solve the void question?

      It will work for render, but in any view with WF,HL or SD, they will be visible.
