Yes hard to find rental versions of these at the moment. But man, they are beautiful. Definitely my current favorite of the sub $10k anamorphics for commercial-type work.

Have you used the Laowa Proteus lenses? Which anamorphic set do you want to try the most?

Those Komodo-x footages are surprisingly organic and remind me of the Dragon sensor, in a very good way..
Have you used Dehancer to grade them? A review of this camera from someone who actually knows how to use it at its full potential would be very nice..

Yes agreed. The Komodo-X was surprisingly great, as I did not like the original Komodo image. But the X definitely feels more like the DSMC2 image that I loved when I used it.

Laowa lenses are underrated. I have the 90mm F2.8 Macro Lens, and it's amazing!

Agreed! I think they may be the most innovative lens manufacturer working today - their Zero-D series, Ranger Cine Zooms, Nanomorphs, and these Proteus - all very impressive.

I'd be down to see KOMODO vs KOMODO-X comparison shots because I'm very interested in the difference now that you've pointed out that you didn't like the KOMODO that much.

I'd love to test them side by side. Probably more of a "feeling" than anything else.

I am not TOTALLY sure! Would need to test them side by side. But man, the Proteus are the sharpest anamorphic lenses I've ever used and, from what I've seen, the Pavos seem to be more vintage-y and have more character, but aren't as sharp. But would love to test. Dear DZO, please send Pavos.
