Very disturbing and well done. The soundtrack to the "Missing Persons" signage and chart scenes create this sense of subtle, gnawing, escalating dread. The implication that toddlers are disappearing and dying in this liminal hellscape is more terrifying than the monster in the first video. In fact, I think the Backrooms universe you're creating is actually scarier if the audience never sees monsters; bizarre, unexplained phenomena, disturbing implications, and subtle cosmic horror elements force our imaginations to do the heavy-lifting and it's more effective than jump scares. An indie film production company like A24 needs to work with you and develop a bigger budget Backrooms movie based on your interpretation. Y'see the thing is, everyone here is talking about Ellis White, but for me what made that detail so, _so_ much more impactful was the fact that that was immediately proceeded by the moment at 0:45. I legitimately went from wanting to cry to getting actual chills in the span of only a few seconds, because I immediately knew that the odds of a child getting in couldn't just be an isolated case. Even if Ellis themself somehow managed to get out, not all of them could have. This tragedy is almost invariably doomed to repeat itself over and over and over again. It's inescapable. Freaking hell, man. Just absolutely incredible.
I literally just discovered backrooms a few minutes ago. Could you explain how a child, let alone a 2 yo, could end up there? I thought it was somewhere very secretive or something
@@tsouk9903 The canonical nature of the backrooms' existence is that they are the space accessible when one noclips out of reality itself, noclip being a term in coding that's difficult to describe without context. It plays on the idea of unintentionally being able to _"break"_ reality's engine by glitching through the surface of an object at just the wrong angle, falling into an unimplemented space. Essentially the backrooms are an existential failsafe when reality itself can't figure out where you're supposed to be, hence why they're endless liminal spaces and don't follow conventional logic.
It's amazing how one dude can make such an immersive, realistic, yet uncanny movie-quality series with bringing the backrooms and other liminal images to life. If someone showed this to me and said it was a real life set with actors in costume or legit footage I would probably believe them - especially before the insane technology of graphics and CGI of today. The realistic movement of the scientists and rope, the filters on the audio and 'footage', and the general scenery combined with a story create an unparalleled and immaculate piece of art. Great work once again.
oh god no a 2 year old in the backrooms? now that really made me feel bad...poor kid prob was so scared, and imagine the 2 yr old trying to run from entities- but props too you bc this video was insane
This is amazing! To include an organization that forcefully opened a portal to the backrooms and use it to find people and in the future I'm guessing the creatures will escape or the organization captures the creatures, love the detail on the red lines on the floor, let's just hope they don't disappear and you're lost
The fact that a 2 year old is stuck in a dreaded endless maze in the midst of a surveillance camera headed monster that makes the shrieking only imaginable in a nightmare
Not everyone would have the same idea for a missing person poster. Which took my immersion away. I like how the found footage guy looks to have the same clothing as this guy. Other wise good video.
I think the most disturbing part of this is that there are children noclipping into this isolated place with no form of food or resources to help them live

I should note that two of the phone numbers which were posted on the flyers for Nicolas Bolton and the unnamed man at 0:17 have area codes located in the Bay Area (707 and 925, respectively). Given that the unlisted video shows news reels of the Loma Prieta Earthquake in San Francisco, as the well as the presentation showing the location of the facility being somewhere in the Bay Area, I might pinpoint that the facility is most likely in San Jose, as the actual epicenter was in the Santa Cruz Mountains south of SJ. On top of the test being the cause of the earthquake, it's possible that the majority of the missing persons took place in the Bay Area, with the two probably originating in Sonoma/Napa/Solano and Alameda/Contra Costa counties respectively. The lore goes more and more deep from there...
Bruh, the south bay at the foot of the Santa Cruz mountains is literally where I live, and the Loma Prieta earthquake was shortly before I was born lmao
I will say that at the time this is supposed to have happened, 02/03/1990, the 925 area code didn't exist until 1998. I can't fault Kane for not knowing this, it just shows how I'm an old fogey now. It used to be 415 for everything in the Bay. I think in the 60s, 408 was created (south bay), then in the 90s 510 (east bay), 650 (peninsula), then 925 was created for the quickly growing east bay.
That reminds me of an episode of creeped out over on netflix where they grabbed inspiration from the backrooms. The story is basically (from my memory) a family going on vacation and the youngest of the bunch was told not to press all the elevator buttons at once by the janitor, she obviously did not listen and was basically trapped in some sort of pocket dimension which led to different parallel dimensions. As she was desperately trying to escape she almost ran into a monster, cutting over to her siblings who went after her shortly after the janitor told them where to find her by pressing all the elevator buttons. They reach the pocket dimension to other worlds(BTW it looks like a long hallway with twists and turns, the monster was also sent there as some sort of punishment which I guess is loosely based on the Greek mythology of asterios and the labyrinth) her siblings were warned that not all doors lead to their universe and that there's a monster roaming around so they'll need to be careful. They search for their sister as best as they can encountering the monster along the way and travelling to different universes, back to the sister she is still trying to escape and when she tries to she bumps into her sibling. Once she does she tells them to cover their eyes as the monster doesn't really want to hurt anyone but it's natural instinct is to tear out someone's eyes and eat them. After covering their eyes the monster guides them back to their universe and as they enter the elevator one of them peaks at the monster only for the monster to try and attack but thankfully the elevator door closes. Once they get back to the hotel they run straight back to their room only to find there sister already there and explaining to her parents how she got in and out of the pocket dimension with the help of an alternative version of her that being the one who was with the siblings
It’s crazy how real this looks. RIGHT into the dream of this confusing reality. I always had dreams of this as a child. But not as a deadly version. It’s crazy how we all think..
I had a job like this. Hundreds of abandoned rooms & corridors & underground walkways. It was the old IBM headquarters (they moved to a different city)
I love how this looks like an actual movie. If there was a way/petition or something to show it in the cinema, I would sign this without hesitation. I also love the idea of "Scientists" (I guess you can call them like that) pulling a red rope after themselves so they won't get lost. Especially on the number Zero. Also, The animation is top tier. This is the most wonderful Backrooms videos I've ever seen.
I remember watching your Q&A livestream and you mentioned wanting to be a director. You’re creating this high quality of content at such a young age shows A LOT of promise. I’m guessing this is going to be part of the feature length film? I can’t wait for it to be finished so I can watch it. Good luck man, and you have what it takes to be an amazing director. Keep on working hard, your AOT videos captivated me when they first dropped and now seeing you doing original content AND it being so good makes me happy for you man. Thanks!
I’ve been floored by one simple aspect of this series this far, it’s your understanding of THAT soundtrack. That particular FEELING when you hear the synths chords kick in and the missing persons graph starts climbing, the sinister sounds that play when the hellish layout of the back rooms starts to reveal itself, it feels like it’s been UNLEASHED or something. I’ve been trying to replicate this kinda sound for years and you’ve hit the nail on the head, BRAVO sir.
Normally, making a 3d model walking naturally is REALLY, REALLY HARD. But this young man managed to make everything look so real. Props to this prodigy 👏👏🙌💯
@@EternalEmpr3ss or composite footage. Blender uses point tracking and virtual environment to do cool things. You don't even really NEED a greenscreen for this kind of thing anymore. its just insane how this 16 year old is making quality of that (and then some) of some netflix exclusives.
I absolutly love this series, could somebody please redact to me what the scientists say? I dont quite understand it but I love it. Kane I love your work.
It’s nearly impossible to make people look real in animation but the guys in the hazmat suits GENUINELY looked real. I can’t believe how good all of this is
@@ericp1139 @Eric P The proof is literally in front of you, the guy who did the project. He's a 3D and VFX artist that uses Blender (3D Software for both 3D modeling and rigging/animating) and Adobe After Effects (Multi function Post-production software). In short, everything you see is 3Dmodels except that one video before the guy tripped and fell into the backroom or the one with wanted posters which was obviously taken in real world.
I love how this tackles a part of the backrooms I don’t think I’ve seen very often; people would go missing with no explanation, their families and friends would just remember them being there one day, then gone the next, the fact that these missing people likely met a fate similar to this guy adds to the horror of the backrooms. Most people aren’t prepared like these scientists, they’re alone, scared, and have no idea what’s going on or where they are.
Idk if you've heard of Everywhere at the End of Time, but I feel like there are very few videos comparing the horror aspect of The Backrooms with the album, cause there are many parallels when you look into it, like this video points out: ruclips.net/video/rx93xZK8IQI/видео.html
"If anybody, blame him"(the blue screen at the end) for some reason sent chills down my spine when I read it. These videos are truly amazing and is setting up for an amazing story props to the creator 👏
I feel so bad for the toddler! First he is maybe at home playing or something and next he just teleports into the backrooms in the middle of nowhere never to see his family ever again.
@@soooreal its very annoying for osaunaitor to say it, I disagree with them complaining about this but Ill explain it anyway. Litterally is a word that is almost never used for what it means, D4rant used litterally unecciarily for no purpose. I'm not taking a side im just explaining.
these are really getting creepy. as a child, i got lost once in a big old building, many floors,- working elevators; i knew how to use elevators, not how to read, and i wasnt trying to get to the ground, but the floor i started on. many of the floors had vacant offices and floors which were, all together unused. the same feeling of dread at every corner being yet another corridor, every floor looking like the last, came with watching these. idk if theres a phobia to describe being lost in a big quiet building alone but im pretty sure i have it, and you captured it here. then, with backrooms, theres the sinister whatever it is, that is stalking you. this really gets my cockles going. what an artist!
What makes this even worse is Ellis (missing person at 0:30) is only 2 years old. She'd be experiencing that but to an extremely traumatic degree. Which is honestly really sad to think about...
When I was young, I remember going to the back-end of the office building my mom worked at. No one was there (she was clear on the other side of the complex). It was dead silent, and that silence was oppressive. Not silence like outside, but silence of the inside of a place that involves nothing but work. Your ears try very hard to pick up anything... I was sure the place was haunted.
@@moore33 The building likely is, but not the people. The people are probably filmed in front of a greenscreen, and the actual backrooms is just a 3d render that they created.
It's horrifying to think of a universe where people who go missing don't just die, or take on a new identity, they suffer in a dimension where no one can find them. Running from a creature that's trying to kill them, hunting them for sport. When it does find them, it's a slow and burning death. Having their body be dissolved from the inside out.
The entities aren’t necessarily in every room, so even if they find a room without danger it’s still terrifying because they are forever lost, always searching for a way out never finding one and that idea truly terrifies me, there must be so much false hope and other emotions involved like despair and who knows what people become in these rooms
@@fanofthings6720 This episode has revealed that there's at least one safe way to get in and out; that teams of government investigators/ scientists are constantly going in and out. So I bet a missing person will eventually find this exit which leads to the facility where the experiment was carried out. This means these creatures can also come into the normal world, right?
Yeah the fact he has done this entire shot with blender and had the hazmat guys be so realistic is amazing (obviously there is likely flaws but yk its hidden with the vhs filter)
If anyone hasn’t noticed this yet, you can hear the hazmat men talking about some kind of fungus covering the man, this coincides with some the back rooms lore of there being some kind of a fungus disease on every floor of the back rooms that infects people and turns them into….. well we don’t talk about that, here is the official explanation in the wiki: “Mold Victims are former humans who have interacted with the Mold and lost some of their "human characteristics". those who interact with the Mold will go through a 4 Stage Process before they completely transform.”
I love how this adds lore to the backrooms, actually putting them in the real world in some meaningful way, having humanity be aware of them, exploring them, trying to at least. Amazing work!
I like that they went in with Hazmat suits, equipment, and a safety cord to help them GTFO of there once they find any survivors or missing persons. Finally, some people that are at least _somewhat_ prepared for whatever horrors they might encounter :D
It’s incredible how realistic these episodes look. Honestly if I had never heard of the backrooms before and stumbled across this I would have thought it was real. This series has been chillingly terrifying and amazing, keep up the great work!

The missing 2 year old got me the most. That’s like a parent’s most demonic nightmare and it’s hard to imagine how the kid would be reacting in that scenario.
He would die from starving or crying because from the scary atmosphere backrooms got, or just the entity found him and ate him instantly. Imagine how much does the baby scared...Bro the entity would scream to the baby and the baby would die from heart attack...That's just fucked up.

I think in this version of the backrooms, it’s more about rifts being caused by the experiments with the portal thing, which would be a neat spin on the noclipping reality.

@@MrSoso1050 You could say that about a lot of the stuff in his videos, but a lot of Hazmat suits have a clearer lens and I suspect they are CGI and dark because it is still very difficult to animate people's faces realisicly. I have a theory on what this could mean. In the video "First Contact", the date is 1990, and the increase of missing people started in 1990. (if you don't know what happens in First Contact, they make a portal into the backrooms.) What this possibly means is the person who all started this experiment is the one to blame. Also, if you pay close attention, the symbol on the back of the hazmat suits is the same symbol you see in the first few seconds in "First Contact". The people apart of that community must've sent people to search for the missing persons, as they think this is all their fault. The red tape that the person in front leaves back could be the trail back to the portal into reality. In the first contact video, while the portal is making the shifts through reality, you can hear that another person says to stop it and that it could be very dangerous, as he thinks it could open the possibility to "noclip" through reality. Remember, this is just a theory, not saying all of this is factual.

That is terrifying, I live in contra costa county and that’s the exact county where 925 is for. Wow.
Additionally, the poster that briefly appears after janice scott & before the graph is seen in the "I remember" video

@@WaterbuffelNL good idea. however, my parents did that and now they lost the kid they put in there ever since...

@@MrSoso1050 You could say that about a lot of the stuff in his videos, but a lot of Hazmat suits have a clearer lens and I suspect they are CGI and dark because it is still very difficult to animate people's faces realisicly. Just look at the body's face at the end. But I could be wrong. Either way, he still knows what he's doing.
@@chpunisher2005 I just saw their walking animation look at their feet they all walk the same
Hey, you look familiar :3
This actually makes the back rooms more sad than scary
Because it shows the effect on the world and how it’s actually effecting people, they don’t disappear, they are still remembered. Poor kid :(
Oof
yep ikr, Wretches, Skin Stealers, Smilers, Partygoers, etc is definitely not scary at all
@piit have some dignity woman
@@YurieSnowie I'm more sad what happens to them not the stupid clowns chasing them
It’s very interesting that one guy is able to weave a complex story that is better told on a unique medium much better than the mainstream. Keep it up Kane Pixels. We can’t wait for your next installment.
I’ll be definitely supporting your Kofi.
And he’s only 16!
@@alexbevanmusic that’s the best part. Pure prodigy doing his best work.
@@alexbevanmusic I was just gonna say the same thing!
Horror like this is rarely seen in mainstream media. The whole creepy retro vhs aesthetic that these kinds of videos have elevates the horror to a level you don't really see in big budget movies or shows.
Backwards message on blue screen: "if anybody, blame him"
That aside, love what you're doing. The visuals, the sound, and the animating. God the animating. I love it all! Keep it up!
EDIT: yes I see your comments, and I fixed it. Thx
anybody*
anybody
what could the implications of that be?
If anybody* actually, but still a good job at reading flipped text.
0:30 Bro... Ellis is only *two* years old. Can you imagine how terrifying that must be for a child? Even as a fully developed adult, being sent to such a place would be horrible. Hopefully she was saved... or at least found by another victim to roam together.
It's impossible to find another wanderer in level 0. Chances are she died because I sure as hell doubt a 2 year old is gonna crawl for perhaps miles and find an exit to level one.
To everyone commenting "but projecttv, this isnt cannon, this is its own thing" stfu i have been told this like 30 times ffs

@@Spongyboi897 I highly doubt that. You gotta remember level zero is about 600 million square miles.

Hi Kane. Really enjoy your videos. One thing I like is that you tell a plot which makes it interesting. Also really couldn't tell this was cgi. Great work.
Hey
I honestly never thought of the idea that literally anyone could accidentally noclip into the backrooms, even a 2 year old. That's horrifying.
yeah, if I ever lived in a world that has the backrooms, I would be paranoid 24/7
@@DinoBoiRex What if I told you, that they might be real and you could noclip at any second.

If anyone was curious the message at the end said “if anyone, blame him” which I think is referring to the person who mistakenly made the back rooms
The font text looks creepy as hell when i first saw it. It gave me the chills 💀
Big question: who is the one saying that?
Oopsy I accidently made another dimension
The backrooms, or the AI, since the AI is a neural network which is similar to the function of a brain, and therefor may be conscious.
this is so cool, and for anybody who’s wondering, at the end it says “if anybody, blame him.” this gives off major SCP vibes and I’m loving it
thanks
Ahhh
Cool stuff

I'm surprised that the origins of the backrooms has been found to be honest, also.. they went as far as to make a backrooms day event... :)
It wasn't confirmed yet. But there are some theories still swirling around about that place being the backrooms.
And if so, how come the people who found it didn't go there to find me yet?
@@jjjlll2494 I mean yep.. and.. I've heard that in the big room where the track is is where it was taken.. but.. I thought they were one address over.. as of right now, The New Revolution Website, and More Screenshots of the place is still shown..

If he is going to implement levels later on, and this is just level 0 of the Backrooms, imagine how crazy it could get. Either way, if he is just making his own lore, he has done an amazing job so far. Can't wait to see more dude!
Didn’t his nine minute video show level 1?
he has shown more levels in the backrooms found fotage but not the level 1 some random levels
@@markbv591 I think it only showed 0 and 188
@@spaceyogurt546 Yea I remember him showing 188 but seeing other levels like level 9 or level 11 being added in would be cool. It could be used in a way to make the wanderer believe they escaped, but then find out they are still in the Backrooms.
