João Neves's OOP ability is underestimated, he is incredibly solid defensively and very strong, even better phisically than Mainoo from what i've been seeing since his debut for benfica last season. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with having Neves AND Mainoo in the same midfield as they can keep switching roles from 6 to 8 without sacrificing quality in those positions because both can pretty much do the same thing to a higher level.
Facts his ability to cover the fullback position is great to doing a job as rwb for Benfica this season as well
@@LongC0cky Yeah he's an elite dribbler too which is odd to me considering his primary position haha, just shows how versatile and all-rounded he can be. I like players who can cover a variety of positions when needed (injury occurrences)

@@cheesedoodle9650I have seen all of united's games this season, so all of Mainoo's minutes. He is the one that goes forward on the double pivot and that suits him better than being the 6. He can definitely do both well though.

As soon as Joao Neves arrives at the premier everyone else that were watching him will say out loud "uhm i guess he was very cheap". This kid is a small titan and will bring a lot of energy and pation to the rest of the team and the stadium. But keep underestimating him i would love to keep him for a lot longer at Benfica :)

Mainoo has the ability to become the next Gullit so long as he stays focused and humble. Neves could become the next Kaka (the AC Milan Kaka) when he played the box to box role and also having a goal scoring threat. He becoming the next Kaka would require him playing along side someone like Mainoo allowing the youth to create telekenetic chemistry and having less need to focus on defensive work meaning he would only need to drop to the top line of the middle 3rd of the pitch when not in possession

Really2 spot on 👏 just in my opinion defensively hes not that good positioning wise and in my opinion he cant be world class at in not the likes of busquets or rodri but if the managers are consistent, the club take care of him good and he take care of himself very good hes going to be on of the best single pivot in the future. For now he needs another partner who can comes deep with him and bring the ball foward.

Hello Guys I'm Benfica supporter and J. Neves (8) and Florentino (6) been the only midfield players on almost all. games this season our Coach exagerate and sacrifice them both on those positions making their effort the double that should be. Neves has more than 4200min of game always with same Top performances which is not normal for his age. He is a Pure 8 but can handle well play has a 6 or a 10. Has 3 goals 2 assists doing all matches has a 6 he has a great shot.
There's no doubt that mainoo has potential but it's still too early to analyse him. I'd say give him half a season of performances for someone his age and in his position.
Also, promote maxi oyedele and play him as a 6, mainoo as an 8 and mejbri as a 10. That's a future man united mdfield.
Oyedele also good. But hes the same as mainoo and like the video said, theres no logic olaying mainoo at 8. Probly should try gore at 8 but from eye witness, gore lack that confident to come deep and bring to ball foward. Other wise isaak arron have the confidence to come deep, take on ppl and carry the ball foward but hes just too clumsy, to eager and same with bruno act first think later. As for mejbri i think in my opinoion its just unlivky for him that weve got bruno because both are same type. Bruno doesnt get injured and we really need him. Nonetheless, all academy players mention above are very good and no doubt will be EPL standards.
It would be foolish of united to pay 80mill for joao neves, dan gore in that benfica academy will play ahead of him.
Kobbie at this age at united delivering like this is better.

I still don't see that.from a starting point,joao neves looks like a better play coz he,s more complete physically and covers so much more ground.he,s also showcased an eye for goal and the incisive passing to play further forward and his long passing at his age is exceptional l.its difficult to compare to kobee as he,s played only two full games this season
True. But lets bare in mind, neves is playing at portugese league. From eye witness in games, he still not up that par for now that is, to be playing at EPL. Mainoo knows the league, hes natural phsycal speaks for it self. If hes playing consistently this season next season his gonna more than ready

Neves dribbling is superior than Mainoo. Both not a great outside the box shooter. Which i think essential as a midfielder.
Mainoo is NOT quick across the ground - he has average acceleration. He just has good anticipation to cover for but he is definitely not as quick as seedorf.

I disagree bro as much I understand where your coming and agree with a lot of your points a lot of the time especially on ETH yes Neves is pricey however I think your highly underrating Neves’ physical attributes being português watching Benfica at times he genuinely surprises me with his physical attributes I believe having both Kobie and Neves would be great for our future and they can not only both play as a single pivot but play alongside eachother especially in big games giving us quality in possession and defensive reassurance without it
I feel like we can strike a double deal with Benfica for around £140-160M maximum for both Antonio Silva and Neves which in my opinion resolves a lot of problems making us younger having a deeper squad with a great young spine
I think having both would be great for us we should then look to bring in Onana for physical presence in certain games like a Newcastle for example
