I never thought to submerge them all in water to get those pesky shells off. Watering underneath is also a tremendous insight.
Thanks for this. I have my first batch on my windowsill!!
thank you! i keep being told to put under light at day 3 but its way too soon. thanks !
Awesome best instructions I’ve seen yet.. well done
Thanks for this great information! I need to grow some for my bunnies - keeping up with their greens can be challenging.
Great video, thanks for sharing
Thnx for the video mate!
Thanks
Awesome thanks
It’s really beautiful👍
I’ve never soaked the seeds and I’ve never had any problems.
Just curious why soaking in hydrogen peroxide for all seeding process? Thanks, Peter.
Just soak the sun shoots to help reduce the mold spores present on the seed hauls.
Excellent. Thanks. Are the lights left on 24/7?
16 on, 8 off
My Sunflower roots are not sinking into and through the soil. They just lay on top of the soil and the plants slowly die...
More weight and get them on before the they pop. The other thing could be that you soil medium is drying out before the roots sink
@@farmerkeith I think it's due to little weight
@@RayMak you can use the concrete 10x20 block or bags of sand that weight the same. I have never had too much weight, only over stacked flats and they tumble when pushing up. Let me know if if the problem persists and I can help you
When you soak in Hydrogen Peroxide are you using food grade or regular peroxide?
Food grade
@@farmerkeith Thanks
@@billtablesetters3260 please make sure to not use the topical H2O2 the guy is using in this video.
That is NOT food grade. Only use food grade for your produce please
@@davidk4082 What concentration? Also, wouldn't it get expensive to use 16 Oz of food grade h2o2 for three trays?
What do you do with the tray afterward? Do the leaves grow back?
All Microgreens are one cut then compost
@@farmerkeith thanks
I always get mold when I grow sunflower.
Hallo, so what would be the profit of that yield?
32-12.50 materials and labor
Thanks for this....What do you use as fertilizer? Is it organic?
Dr. Earth, but any organic fertilizer works.
Please, what have this pro mix pgx? I live in Brasil. Thanks.
PGX is just a peat based mix used for propagation. Use what you have locally available. You might have to test some different types and then choose the best.
Did you water the sunflower during the germination process? Thx
No, not until the day after uncovering.
Thanks for your quick answer. If i dont water them for 24 hours, the getting mold....maybe more water at the start
@@aljoschadickmann6296 the soaking in diluted hydrogen peroxide helps with mold, and spraying again after uncovering. I find it goes away after a couple days and is only on the seed hulls to start with.
Is that food-grade hydrogen peroxide?
Yes
where did you get your sunflower seeds ?
Mumms or True leaf it I need them quick.
H2O2 is not necessary, none of the professional farmers do that . ON THE GROW , nor DONNY GREENS nor Curtis Stone from the Urban farmer
Curtis Stone did use hydrogen peroxide on his sun shoots. That is where I learned it from. When you have a problematic batch of seed it is the only thing to limp it to production.
Why is it not necessary?
