Brilliant pod as always. The club needs someone fighting their corner and I never got the sense that Dyche was doing that wholeheartedly. A lot of self-preservation and blaming others. Moyes will at least be straight talking which will be refreshing.
Dyche must have known that the players were questioning his methods. He's not daft though, its all damage limitation tactics to ensure he gets another job. The media and fans of other clubs eating it up.
fascinating to hear paddy's dyche sacked article prep goes back two months. i'd love to know what triggers that prep? is it like a gut feeling "this manager is teetering" because it's not something he'd always have regardless of how well the manager was doing? so as early as october paddy was trying to be ready for his sack? or was that more of a prep in advance knowing his contract was expiring and just being ready for, at the very least, a summer exit? thanks for the special episode lads, enjoyed listening along as always.
I'd suggest the ownership asked him what he was doing to try and improve things. Appears as though his own limitations have become apparent, even to himself. As recently as last week he was saying his '90s style' approach coincided with the best era of the PL, as some sort of tacit defence of his approach. Things evolve of their own momentum, it was time. I lament the day he was ever asked to be manager of Everton. That's not on him.
@@griff8578 the drop off in the attack this season was mad. McNeil gets injured and all creativity is lost (especially from set pieces). Takes some doing to be THAT one-dimensional
@ it has been startling and I don’t think it can be dressed up as anything other than he ran out of ideas. Just didn’t have the tools to at least try something different
@@griff8578yeah, that makes sense. Just so frustrating to finish last season with a lot of momentum (the defeat at Arsenal was harsh and as well as we’ve done there in years performance-wise) and not take it into this season at all
I felt SDs time was up at Bournemouth when one of my mates asked an Everton coach who was playing up front and the coach asked him back who would he pick !
What has happened with dyche was the fact the friedkin group will overlook all who work for them making sure they get 100% effort from all who work for them. Sean has worked in a laid back work environment that has not had pressure to perform and now the people who own the club want performance he is not able to get to the levels required and was a bit rabbit in the headlights
Excellent podcast, thanks guys!
If he wanted performance related bonuses he should of been paying us

@@lee111178 nice one, mate. Yeah, he defo went into this season on the back foot. Feels like he’s wasted the biggest opportunity he’ll ever have
Really enjoyed the pod, liked Paddy using the expression 'nuts and bolts', it'll take a while for us all to unDyche ourselves I think.

3 wins and just 15 goals scored forced the Friedkins to act.
