anouther thing, if you do make a relationship with an artist, you can still make some upfront and still take the backend, This is why building strong relationships is so key. as many times in life, it's not always what you know what who you know and what can you provide for them.

After hearing you talk about the development cycle for drip, I think you have an incredible opportunity to take all of the new plug-ins that you’re developing and everything and work with your guy to develop a mobile DAW that is actually good.
I been on mobile for couple years n beats are gettin better n better I like FLmobile but to get 3rd party apps to work well I resample into Garage band and manipulate loops AUV3 effects or sometimes screen record it, it’s a few more steps/process but once you use to it you can make pretty sick stuff

Most producers own 50% of the publishing of the tracks they've produced as well - which they can register with songtrust and get paid a whole other royalty! both on the pub and writer side! ;)!

I do think producers have to reach out to artists more. I understand producers want to make money so they should charge a lot for their beats if it's good. 250 million sreams will generate aproxx 200000 - 300000 if the producer has 50% publishing and 3% on the master labels only pay you the master side the publishing side is paid directly to the producer .
Kyle, Just to add on to your conversation about money in "placements" you are ONLY talking about the producer royalties from the Master. What you aren't adding into that is publishing royalties. Songwriters, Producers, etc make their coin in publishing, not necessarily in master royalties. So for that "platinum" song (on streaming, radio, licensing), you will potentially make hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in publishing alone. Every super-producer we love got millions from publishing not from master royalty splits.
the amount of publishig generated on 1 million streams is 2000 dollars and hlaf of that is producer(s) share its seprate from the 4000 dollars generated on the master out of which producers get 3 to 6 %. \
