Nice work. What tool do you recommend for the carbon seal removal? The old 2 smokers you could pull back the hat with your hands to remove the clip but not with the newer bigger versions on the 4strokes.
Use the tool its about $100, it prys it back. If its siezed siezed youll have to do what I did and cut the boot with an angle grinder or dremel, if you knick the shaft or mess up the splines its about $150 for the shaft, dont mess up the splines because if the ones inside the ski bend youre in a world of trouble. A new boot is about $30. I sprayed my drive shaft with a few coats of black spray paint to prevent rust and because it looked nice.

I just got my first seadoo 4tec it's a 185 gtx. But it's hurt. Took it apart and the ringland on the cylinder #3is toast. I believe they had cast pistons. Any recommendations on parts I should put in ? For an upgrade. Or just go stock. I also heard about the valves that's in them are junk. The machine has 120 hrs.
Definitely replace the exhaust valves as far as pistons go CP makes a really good piston and they are not that expensive just go to the right machine shop the can do the right clearance that’s important
@@calasworld do you is 20 thousandths too much? It had pre ignition in one cylinder and caused a little damage to the head from the rings coming apart. Too bad I can send photo's on here

If it's not pulling back tap on it with a rubber mallet it's just sticking
