Really? Until I turned off fears entirely every single one of my child sims got fear of the dark pretty much instantly. And it was bugged at the time - if you “cured” it it didn’t actually remove it, just swapped it so they were always afraid during the day instead of at night. Did they ever fix that?

But it was just introduced to the game last summer when they replaced the old whims system with the new wants & fears - that was when high school came out, and one of the annoying things was that while whims were in all the packs the new wants & fears launched with base game and high school compatibility only. As kids, Max had simple clothes, easy to wear or move in; while, Kary had princessy, aesthetic clothes, and lots of pink. But Max as a teen is dressed up - skirt, pink shirt, a brimmed hat - it's as if she was trying to copy Kary (maybe to try and make her mom like just as much if not more?); while Kary is dressed comfortably. I have a Sim who currently has 19 children, no more than 7 have ever lived together in the house. I mostly let them do whatever they want, and I don't do much with the mom either, and it's so interesting to see how they autonomously interact with so many kids. Usually one kid in a set of twins (she has 3 sets!) feels very ignored. Basically all the kids feel neglected except for 3 of them, one of whom will NOT stop calling after I moved her out.
My teen sim aged up with high confidence and still got the funniest no one cares about me sulky moodlets when the parents even spoke to the younger children. I really like the new pack.
This video and comments are therapeutic for me because I grew up as Max. I was always the scapegoat and unsupported through most. When you said "Carissa gets gifts and Max gets orders" I felt that.
I love that your comfort for poor Max is 'oh honey, don't be sad, I'll make your life the best in the world as an adult. And your sister, she can go in a dumpster.'
Yeah, too bad she wasn't a spellcaster with the spell that makes food, cause then at least she could have some good food and not have unbalanced meals, that's the only way the girls in my game ever ate, cause their mom never cooked for them, I had a mod which lets kids be spellcasters, so they had magic.
I love it when the Sims do things like slam doors when they get an attitude. My favorite has to be when teen sims do that specific walk they do when they're in a mood, dragging their feet with their head hanging back and a grimace on their face. It makes me laugh every time. This experiment didn't make me quite as sad as others as I don't get attached to my sims in the slightest. I could play a sim from birth to death on long life span, they die, and I'm just on to the next lol. The ones that make me sad are pet cat deaths 😂
This reminds me a bit of a family I had in Sims 2, my sim had twins and it was the first time ever, I was a kid who didn't know how to take care of two babies at once so one wasn't as well taken care of as the other XD
“We’ll just make a garden salad because we don’t have any cooking points- HEY DONT SLAM THAT FRIDE DOOR-* continues talking about her plan for the video* “ had me dying 😂😂
I also struggle tryin to be intentionally shitty to other sims, especially the little ones, but if I'm playing a mean or evil sim, i have to remember that they're a dick so I have to act like one. I rarely play Hates Children sims, too. so when I played Sergio Romeo, he and Zoe Patel had an "unwanted" child (she was happy, he was not obviously) and he got a want to crush a child's dream, i had him direct all that on his own kid. super harsh. but of course this is happy and cheerful sims 4 and they end up being friends autonomously cuz sims 4 logic. 🤷♀

I never thought I would see this day. Ms. Brit actually playing a golden child story! 😮 No doubt a lot of people who grew up with a golden child sibling can relate to this. ❤
This is literally my story. The bike was a trip to Disney in Florida. My brother and sister were suprised in front of me, i had to stay home. Its typical scapegoating. This type of thing all my childhood years. Ive been diagnosed with 8 mental illnesses
I did this a while ago and I started CRYING while playing my sims 4 nobody in the family liked the hated child and I felt so bad, she started getting low confidence traits and was always crying in the rain, so 2 hours in I made a rich lady adopt her and now they are happy together while she plays violin to her hearts content
I didn't even know children could be influenced into developing different fears and traits! Might be because the last time i played the sims 4 was in 2018 or 2019, i feel like there weren't these many choices! I was so invested into this video
I found what what happens if you neglect one of the children first hand i was so scared when I got the notification that one of the kids on my world had been taken up by CPS lol great video!
My brothers baby mama played this challenge in real life. Her oldest was her golden child whole her honest was treated like crap. They are both early 20s now and believe it or not it was the "Golden child" that cut off her mom while the youngest has limited contact. The oldest was expected to be prefect and had really high standards while the youngest had almost no expectations and no real parenting. They both have anxiety and depression as a result of their mom. The oldest has ocd though she's in college and doing well in college. The youngest has a decent job though she does drink a lot, was into more hardcore but now only smokes weed and vapes. She's only 20 so hopefully as she gets older she'll stop drinking so much. To be honest I'm proud of both girls, they both had a hard time growing up and even pitted against each other (they get along now) by their mom. Their mom was and is a hardcore drug user who had a parade of men coming in and out of their home (some were not good at all to my nieces), called even my youngest niece the N word with the hard R at the end because she's mixed (my brother is half black and is only the biological father to the youngest but he loves the oldest as his own too) I think of their mother as the destroyer of lives because she will try to destroy the life of anybody in her life if she thinks they have wronged her in any way even if they are her own children. There's so much more even but that's all another long story.
I watch two youtubers that had previously worked with small kids, both are fun, sassy, sadistic, and headstrong people... I wonder if that from the kids... also I really want to see a part two of these two...
I feel like the parenthood mechanics should have the kids learn from what the parents do in the same room. That way the example set by the parents would have some impact on their behavior, even if they don't interact directly.
There's a ton I could say about this video and how much I love-hate this experiment, but instead, I'm just gonna- "Max had a nightmare about being in a ladder-less pool."

Yelling at the Sim for slamming to fridge door got me 🤣🤣🤣
omg this is the first video ive watched of hers and im so mesmerized by her voice its absolutely angelic.
"well i couldn't i was too hungover" 💀
I think you’d be great doing a Cinderella challenge or a Big Sister challenge. That would be fun to watch.
I think you should make this a series and make it longer, instead of 5 days in game. Maybe in that way it could have more consecuences for the girls
Thank you Karla for always providing such amazing gameplay and videos that answer these questions that we all have but don’t have the strength to do 😂
I didn't even know children could be influenced into developing different fears and traits! Might be because the last time i played the sims 4 was in 2018 or 2019, i feel like there weren't these many choices! I was so invested into this video
Oh look! A simulation of my Childhood! This will be a fun trip down memory lane!
This was in my recommended i have no clue why i dont even play the sims but this is funny AF 😂

The second you said “I’m feeling cruel today” I knew I was gonna love your channel
I had to stop watching at this part I’m a pusssyyy😢😢😢 11:22
did anybody else see the mom pick her ear INTENSELY and then mix the salad with those same waxy fingers all within 3 unclean seconds
Even Shrek disapproved of this wow..
Poor max, shes gonns grown to be a rebel teenager
3:08 I CANT BE THE ONLY 1 WHO SAW HOW SHE PICKED IN HER EAR AND THEN MIXED THE SALAD 😭😭
Max and I are the same, please give her a good future, pure happiness.
I love Brit’s dark sense of humor lmao
Your videos are so amazing, makes me wanna play The Sims again! Love from Brazil
Olha, uma companheira! 😊
Can't wait to you replicate the stanford prison experiment but you're the gaurd
"They used to have one of those" 🥰 literally talking about a father- this woman is funny asf 💀
I found what what happens if you neglect one of the children first hand
i was so scared when I got the notification that one of the kids on my world had been taken up by CPS lol
great video!
I was scared it was the one I wanted
Ngl I was concerned reading the first half of that 😭
@@random1744 lol
@@Amethyst904 fr i didn't know what was going on
Can we get a part 2 of them as teens please
I was treated differently & it still affects me til this day is why I treat all my children the same and try to do better as a mother ❤
You seem like a good parent, I wish my parents were like that lol 🥲
RUclips directed me here and I stayed because her voice is like butter and tickles my brain
There's so much more even but that's all another long story.
when max crawled in bed and cried, i lowkey teared up. poor kid.
I like oddly specific videos like these, keep it up!
I've never felt so sad over some pixels. 😢
"DO NOT SLAM THAT FRIDGE DOOR!" That scared me so bad 😭! I thought that you were my mom 💀.
2:38 “DO NOT SLAM THAT FRIGDE DOOR!” She sounds like my mom 😢
Same, this video is too accurate 💀
I just have stumbled upon your channel and your videos and content are already a great entertainment for me haha, amazing sims content!!! ❤
@7:37 has got me dying. "max has got some pet shit in her inventory." said so nonchalantly
I watch two youtubers that had previously worked with small kids, both are fun, sassy, sadistic, and headstrong people... I wonder if that from the kids...
also I really want to see a part two of these two...
I kinda want to hear about you working at a preschool hungover XD
Not the mother picking her ear and mixing the salad with hands 🫣😭
LMAO it happened as i saw your comment, lmao ewwwwy😫
Lmao you had me dying at “DONT SLAM THE FRIDGE DOOR”
Just wanted you to know I love you best as far as sim RUclipsrs go, you're the best 🥰😊 don't ever stop sharing your gameplays
😭 I need more of this family i wish it was a series
“Feeling particularly cruel today”. Same Karla. Same.
"Could be worse max, could be in an inbreeding challenge" 😭
I watched gatcha "hated child to X" type series as a kid. This is remarkably similar to that
This sounds like a psychological experiment before there was an ethics board
😂
I feel like the parenthood mechanics should have the kids learn from what the parents do in the same room. That way the example set by the parents would have some impact on their behavior, even if they don't interact directly.
“Well I couldn’t, I was too hungover” 😂😂😂😂 that got me cracking up
0:29 my mom asked that question too. My brother was the loved one lmao
There's a ton I could say about this video and how much I love-hate this experiment, but instead, I'm just gonna-
"Max had a nightmare about being in a ladder-less pool."
i just found this yt channel but i love it so much. i normally watch cas videos, but this makes me want to watch more gameplay
It’s your commentary for me 😂 I feel so bad for Max but you keep making me laugh ..
This gave me a great idea for what I can do for my next heir of my legacy. Thanks!
