The only reason those bass are hitting that orange color is because they are Volunteer fans, after all they are TN bass, lol. Berkley should've named that Blaze color volunteer orange or volorange. Great catches.

How do you catch bass in such cold weather? I'm in washington state and can't catch a bass in my life depended on it, it has been in the 30s and 40s since December but it's in the 30s in this video? How come they bite so often?
This lure is interesting. Trying to determine what size to get. Any chance you can put all the sizes side by side with maybe a regular crankbait next to it for comparison? The size 4 looks to small for what I am looking for. I mostly bank fish, but still want lures for deeper banks. It would speed up my decisions and get my order in quicker. Thanks.

I’ve not yet. I’ve got a couple in the box. That is a really good color though. Certain lakes around me they love those pastel and bright blues, purples, and pinks.

Alex, Can you tell me why you chose a traditional craw color vs a shad type color? In the late fall , “people “ say throw shad colors, here your killing it on craw
From a biological stand point: crawdads this time around me start turning those super bright orange and green colors. Bass start keying in on those crawdads and thus when they eat that color, shape, and sound they’re rewarded with a meal. I believe that crankbait color, shape, and sound does a good job of mimicking crawdads.
Anecdotal stand point: I’ve been fishing these lakes my whole life and I’ve tried shad and chart patterns. While they can work, year in year out the craw patterns are more consistent and catch me more fish for me.
Possible take away: fishing is anecdotal to one’s own experiences more then prescriptive to any one idea or technique. Applying different ideas and techniques can help to build your own tool box. I’d try a variety of colors on your lakes and see which ones stand out as fish catchers above others.
