"Domination" from Pantera's "Cowboys from Hell" album (1990).
It's time for more Pantera! I'm planning to do more Pantera soo.. let's do this! The tuning for this song was a bit odd. It's like 25 cents removed from the standard A=440. Anyway, this song is not easy. Rex was really quite good at muting while playing with a pick. The intro might actually be the hardest part of the song, to be honest.

Yeah cause most Pantera songs are either D standard or C# standard, but you gotta remember, one of their older albums were in regular tuning too.

Thanks! I've been using the Parallax plug-in a lot more which cuts through the mix much better than anything I have used before.

Hmm, I'd suggest playing it a lot and getting a feel for where the song is going. Rex was probably improvising a little bit so if you miss one of the 5-7 fills, it's not that bad.
Put this on 0.75 speed and this song grooves hard :D

Thanks! A=xxx doesn't mean only the A string. it means that all the strings are tuned to that frequency. In this case it's A=436

Why'd you go for downstrokes on those trips at the end rather than alternate picking? Feels like Alt would be less stressful on the picking hand and easier to count the beats.
I guess it happens when a riff is quite heavy and you really start to feel it. Alternate sure is easier, but this was just more fun.

I can play it without a pick lol. But Rex Brown used a pick and so I did the same since that is more accurate :)
@@LeoBassCovers2 If that’s how you learned, then that’s good. I’ve never had music teachers to tell me what a note, or a scale is. I played bass naturally. Plus, I didn’t know what a pick was back then. I just fingered it out. You know..

5:37 I always get confused about this part, so I know people who would cover, just does it by open string, palm muting, but for me, Is it E or F? Cause in the outro, I always did it on the first fret, F note, but people do it on open string, E note. So Is Dimebag and Rex like really, REALLY picking the shit out of the strings, cause I done it before, I picked it much, the E went into F. But I'm just confused, I always done it on first fret, cause it sounds like an F note power chord.
