Thank you for listening, when I met and played with Bob I had a Johnston steel style O guitar he just laughed and said it was a toy he wouldn't even play it. The National Steels are pricy but well worth every penny as I'm sure you know.

Ok, I think I will stick with the .016 and open G tunning for my Hawaiian playing if I can ever figure it out. So when I look up tunning's for Open G, I get Open G taro tuning then Major G tunning, High G tunning and then Dobro Tunning that I am not sure what they all mean? Now someone I found says ''I think Bob Brozman used the Lowbass tuning, what is that one? Trying to find a video that teaches this style in this G taro tunning.

Just bought a Square Neck Tricone and do not know where to go from here and need your help. I am so confused with what tunning I should use. It is in open G Taro Patch right now, DGDGBD thinking this is a Hawaiian tunning. Now I just discovered the Lap Guitar videos I have been watching are DOBRO, GBDGBD. Then I found someone who says he uses ''A-Highbass the early version of the infamous Dobro tuning that in the early style of Sol Hoopii used. I have .016 to .059 strings on as National Guitar told me to do for open G or D tuning. Do I use the Dobro tunning GBDGBD or open G, DGDGBD or A C# E A C# E turned down that I cannot figure out so I do not need to buy special strings?? A person has some instruction for G HiBass tuning but I do not know what that is? His name is Sebastian Müller.
    Thank you!!!

Hi Eric With the .016 I use the taro tuning ,that is the tuning that Bob Brozman used .You can buy resonator guitar med. gauge ,I can't recall the numbers I believe it is a green coloured packaging D'dddario strings for the GBDGBD tuning . It is the standard set I believe for country style Dobro players . Let me know if this is helpful.

Hey!!! Wait a minute there! Wow, that looks like your square necked tricone you did the wonderful Hawaiian Music with? I loved that so much I went and bought a National square neck too. What tunning for ''Practicing Hawaiian music with the steel guitar Lonesome Don Wilkie Video'' did you use? I would guess this song was played in Open ''D''? I have not received mine yet as it is on the way and they put .016 to .059 strings on it with a tunning of Open ''G''. Thanks for being there and for getting out the square neck for me. A real pleasure.
