I literally stopped watching the video when the showed that the ENTIRE 'Dakar' race was now held in Saudi Arabia... Like sure, even if the strat of the race and a bulk of it was in the country I could accept that. But the entire race? Yeah nah, I'm out.
Regarding Overlanding. Get a list. Figure out which ones are the most likely to come and gamify the experience of Dakar to attract the high net worth Overlanding tourists. The Overlanding vehicles follow the support vehicles and food trucks. The food trucks set up at the checkpoints complete with meal service and big screen televisions so the guests can relax, eat, drink and watch the nightly race feed on the big screen. You offer them an Overlanding experience comparable to The Paddock Club in Formula One in the middle of nowhere if possible. Imagine the wonderful Dakar logo rendered in 22kt gold (To add a bit of mystery don’t include the word Dakar) and geo cached along the route for each participant . How much and how long would they treasure the memory and retell their story’s?
Is there a preview anywhere that goes over the teams?? Or does it just start with the highlights? That said this is a pretty well put together video, thanks for putting it together! I remember Kleinshmidts win in that Pajero! Back then we had Speedvision RIP

What amazes me is as a UK resident I am unable to purchase official Dakar merchandise as the seller, Diverse Extreme is based in Poland and only ships to the EU. How can a worldwide sporting events organisers allow this to happen?

I must admit I lost interest in the Dakar when the trucks were hit with a speed/power restriction then the motorcycles were castrated and the final straw was moving the series to the Emerates, and now electric is being pushed on competitors when we all know electric is a failed idea, because of range, and why fit a big gasoline engine to do the charging how dumb is that, a few manufacturers are now doing this dumb dumb dumb an jarge CC engine divorced from the drivetrain to charge the batteries not to assist the motors wen it is low on charge, I went electric for my every day car, never again back to a petrol or deisel this month, and hope by the time it is compulsary I will not be driving due to my age. So what I am saying is myself and my close friends "all petrol heads who have teased me solid for three years for buying electric as I race gasoline powered offroad trucks and buggies and have done so for twenty five years, we will not be watching this years Dakar. Oh my mates have added their voices, the amount of side by sides is killing the offroad builders buisiness's and they really dislike the buggies as they look like nothing we could buy and drive a lot like the Radio Control trucks and buggies we play with between racing rebuilding and prepping our race vehicles.
