- The Rossum-Electro Music Assimil8or is a multi-timbral phase modulation eurorack sampler module and is the jewel of Dave Rossum’s decades-long pioneering of affordable professional sampling technology.
In this video, I will try my best to help you understand phase modulation. It's Dave Rossum's belief that this is the ONLY eurorack sampler that can do this. I searched all over the web trying to learn this technique on this module and found nothing. Hopefully, this will unlock the magic secrets of this concept.

Great series. Phase modulation happens when "the modulator is directly changing the location in the carrier’s waveform, rather than changing the rate that the carrier oscillates by moving along through its waveform." This is Dave's explanation on the Assimil8or website.

Whaaaaat the hell… phase modulation is so bizarre
Ya, it's so special--and it was one of Dave's big "things" to make sure was part of this module. I think it means more to him than anyone else, but it really is pretty cool.
