The mere fact we have any town that is allowed, regardless of any circumstance except natural disaster, to wither and suffer like that is unacceptable. We tell ourselves how great our country is and it takes a nanosecond to find exception. I do hope they don't just gentrify it, and actually build it to greatness with the people that have called it home through the worst of times.
Small towns in Ohio are super affordable. 30,000 pop in my town and to rent a house or apartment $700 a month! Groceries and property taxes affordable. My property tax for a year, $1400.
Compared to some other states, Ohio's fairly affordable. Gotta say, though, some states have way more affordable groceries. Our property taxes per year ranges between $650-700. It's a beautiful state, depending on what areas one's at.
After hearing the fact that New Hampshire is a holdout on the seat belt law, their motto, "Live Free or Die" makes sense. They would rather die than be forced to wear a seat belt.

I live in Minnesota and have close family members in Missouri. I drive to visit the Missouri kin fairly often. That means I drive through Iowa. You won’t believe what driving past a hog farm smells like in the summer!
I'm an Ohio gal, born and raised. Lived all over the southern half. It is fairly affordable, compared to other places, but jobs tend to pay poverty wages. Even having a college degree doesn't help most folks much, unless you're in a city, a doctor or lawyer or something like that. That problem isn't really isolated to Ohio, though. All things considered, it's pretty decent here. And beautiful...oooh, we got some pretty country here!
I moved to Pensacola Florida from Worcester Massachusetts September last year for a fresh start. Glad I did it. There's plenty of jobs here and the weather is a lot nicer. I hate snow.

I’m from Portland, Maine and now live in Massachusetts. I’m about 15 minutes from the boarder of NH. These 3 states you can drive through within an hour. Just depending on what part you’re in. There’s always something to do! Beaches, lakes, mountains, shopping, amazing food, etc.
That's true, but hurricanes are definitely worse. They cause alot more damage, and can last for days. Tornadoes typically don't last longer than an hour.

Everyone else from MA either won't change NH or won't move here.

My favorite presidents. 1. Lincoln, saved the Union; 2. FDR, New Deal, won WWII; 3. Theodore Roosevelt, established US as world power, proposed the Fair Deal, early effort at Progressive legislation.; 4. John F. Kennedy, mobilized the American language for freedom, stood firm against Kruschev; 5. Well, it became more of "live free and die", which the residents seem to get the gist of pretty quickly. NH did fairly well in fending off covid, and the Republican governor seemed to actually give a shit about public health and proper education on the matter.

This list is good, and I'm happy to see many midwestern states on the list.
After hearing the fact that New Hampshire is a holdout on the seat belt law, their motto, "Live Free or Die" makes sense. They would rather die than be forced to wear a seat belt.
And that's not a problem.

I’m curious, what kind of $$ would a college educated tech worker make say in the technology industry (not a programmer) in Ohio?
Is it very Gloomy most of the year tho? (Specifically Columbus) I see that it has a lot of cloudy days online. Seems to have a great economy tho.
I moved to Pensacola Florida from Worcester Massachusetts September last year for a fresh start. Glad I did it. There's plenty of jobs here and the weather is a lot nicer. I hate snow.
I live in Londonderry,Nh & I also hate the freaking winters..lol.. Always thought about moving to Fl, such a huge decision. The winters and the kinda insane property taxes here suck, but everything else is pretty nice. Low crime, great schools etc. Need to see where my kiddos end up…❤️🏝

Can you do a video about how many Illinoisians move to each state, and how many people move to Illinois from each state Briggs?
I think as the Illinois population is centered around Chicago they would go to Wisconsin or Indiana.
Yes, but there are some people who aren’t moving to both of those locations. For example, my cousin moved to Colorado from Illinois 2 years ago. People from Illinois are moving to Arizona, Florida, Washington, Texas, etc. personally, I would move to Washington or Arizona because of the jobs and nature.

Most places with higher cost of living will yield you more income for doing the same job.
Kind of weird that the population of my town, San Diego, has more people than some entire states.
Because it's awesome.
It's because California is huge. When factoring in population, always considered the size of the state, economy, and opportunity. California is practically a country in of itself. Same with Texas.
Hey Briggs - The lack of a seat belt law here in NH is quirky - we also don't require helmets on motorcycles. I always laugh when we end up in the top 10 of the healthiest states list. Briggs doesn't seem to know it, but there are some states that have sunshine instead of snow all year.
Some of us like snow and hate sun. Personally, I want to live in a cool, shady forest.
Some have way too much heat and humidity, too, which is why Florida would NEVER be an option for some of us.

North Carolina?? The Charlotte and Raleigh areas are BOOMING and will only continue to grow
Yeah I was surprised NC wasn’t here must’ve just missed the cut for a top 15 for sure. Raleigh and the rest of the triangle has been booking the last couple of decades and Charlotte is super nice and cool. Not to mention all the nice small towns, beaches, and mountains.
NC is getting too expensive compared to the wages in the major cities and the rural parts of the state lacks opportunity.

I watched this to see what western states were on the list, because I can’t do humidity.
Of the states on this list, I am most intrigued by MN, WI, IA, and NE. I used to live in OH (suburbs of Dayton), and while I sometimes miss it there, I would look at the Columbus area if I moved back there. NH and VA are great places, but pricey. I like MI except for Detroit and Flint.
Best Presidents from before I was born: FDR and “Ike”.
My favorite presidents. 1. Lincoln, saved the Union; 2. FDR, New Deal, won WWII; 3. Kennedy, mobilized the American language for freedom, stood firm against Kruschev; 5. Grant, best general of Civil War, only president who pushed to make Reconstruction work, completed transcontinental railway;
Over the past year I would say FL and TX deserve a place on this list
Texas has high property taxes very humid over there it's also very hot and humid in Florida
Florida? No Way. Too touristy, too hot, humid, sticky.
@@diannt9583 For opportunity it is great. I think what drives it down a little is it’s affordability in some places. I live in Jacksonville (In the panhandle) so it doesn’t get to hot up here for long
@@Americafirst-i8q Depends on the part of Florida. Panhandle doesn’t get as hot or stay hot near as long as the peninsula. How New Hampshirites have been dealing with this "Live free or die" thing during the lockdown?

Pelosi is paying them more to stay home.
Well, it became more of "live free and die", which the residents seem to get the gist of pretty quickly. NH did fairly well in fending off covid, and the Republican governor seemed to actually give a shit about public health and proper education on the matter. NH is also completely surrounded by states that are more leftist than it (and Canada), which likely helped influence the citizens to work as a community.
