Great video that covered a lot of ground! CT2 is looking good. Be waiting to see all the additions! Nice that John H. is again helping you out with his expertise! Rusty is looking cute as always. Safe travels and good loads! G&L
We had a very productive call from 1am to 2:30am that Sunday morning! Shared numerous pix back and forth with me editing his photos with multi colored lines as to possible locations of boards, and such.
Lifetime member of OOIDA. I agree every trucker should be a member. Also, CT, had a good experience in the SAPP BROS shop last Friday. They did a good job.👍
Thanks for the mention at 17:17 regarding our 1am to 2:30am call! I might suggest, if possible, putting a vertical 1” x 2” strip underneath the rear board at back side to provide some stability against bowing downward if there isn’t any lip there already.
Hi CLUTCH 👋 RUSTY 💕 Glad you've been busy and fixing CT2 with more storage space 👍 I'm not sure how that truck rides but on my T680 I keep my top bunk down (keeps my bed cooler and I keep everything on my top bunk but I use my net buckled when rolling just in case I hit unexpected road bumps or turns or any hard braking, don't want everything flying out. Boy that grill looks pretty scary if it was in my rear view mirror lol. Got to protect your truck/business any which way possible! RUSTY looking happy and active, still loves his snacks ❤ Sending hugs and cuddles Be safe out there!!
@@ClutchTrucker I want to see what your opinion will be once winter comes, when it comes to traction. Yes many like automatics trucks, but I'm not on that list. 🤪 Hugs and cuddles to you and RUSTY, Be safe!! 🥰
Good luck getting into some of some of these tight places with thar big ass gaurd on the front of that truck shit I was in a place so tight last wk I broke all my lug nut covers off so good luck with all that!!! Unless you don't get into tight places??
My pet peeve with the Cascadia is that when the long wiper blade goes over the curve of the windshield it builds up with ice. A shorter 20 inch blade stays ice free and works better. Also the spray nozzles on the wiper blade did not spray the top of the windshield, I wanted to add a second nozzle on the left wiper blade, but Yellow would not approve it.
Great video is it easier for Rusty without the upper bunk stairs to climb. That front metal guard looks well built brush guards for pickup trucks not so much. I'm interested in how you like the automatic over shifting in the winter weather. I wish you luck finding a buyer for your old truck soon just parked takes a toll. A younger local owner operator has bought quite a few older semis to convert to toter motorhome haulers. There into semi truck pulling that's a whole different level of serious crazy powerful diesel engines. They've saved hundreds of thousands of dollars building their toys that started as a fun hobby. Even though the family has been in trucking for generations they are fighting just as hard as you are to stay profitable. I'm 72 years old retired disabled I can't believe the struggle all working class people are having in today's world. You and Rusty have a most wonderful day Clutch Trucker!!!
Clutch, thank you for the education per OOIDA! Never knew that information. Have a question. You had noted a few years ago that the old truck wasn't regulated for California so you couldn't do loads from here in California. Is it the same with this newer truck?
Glad to see you on comments again Beth! And no, current truck is not banned from California. I just don’t plan on going there. Fuel is way too high. And rates in and out are far too low. Plus, California hates Truckers
I noticed ‘ol’ Rusty is looking pretty good lately. Nice to see! Yea I never had much faith in the ATA 😂 OOIDA is worth every penny even at $40 bucks. Good deal on the antennas. I always seemed to have better luck with the El Cheapos. 😂 Go figure
I believe he’s just planning a simple shelf with vertical supports under it on each end so it’s easily removable from the built in cabinets. Like an upside down U shape sort of.
I'm a senior member, and I'll give you a pure example of ooida benefiting even none members. The reason you don't pay NY weigh distance tax on toll roads because ooida sued them and many more examples, plus they have someone in Washington lobbying trucker rights, but they need more members to be taken serious by congress and Senate. So join drivers stop being cheap, it's not that much.
Please, please STOP letting folks get thier own authority. The Trucking Industry is "saturated" beyond belief with people getting thier own authority. This is making the freight market fall as well as making some drivers get their own authority that dont deserve it. Just STOP giving authority to those who dont deserve it and stop "oversaturation" of the trucking industry
Good luck moving forward with CT2
You and Trusty Rusty stay safe.

Good to see that everything is going smoothly CT. Stay safe out there on the highway 👍

A possibility. I may just add some flat metal brackets to the two boards

Be safe out there!!
Thanks Connie. This truck definitely rides rougher. Mainly due to the shorter wheelbase

Hugs and cuddles to you and RUSTY, Be safe!! 🥰
I used to haul exguard bye bye Bambi bumpers out of Des Moines with my previous company I worked for … they were great people to deal with
Nice idea for more storage
Definitely
Liking that grill guard 👍🏻👍🏻
Clutch, why don't you remove the top bunk? It would save weight, and add extra room to move your shelf back, or make it wider.
I did a lot of that on my previous truck. Trying to do less major changes to this one in case I need to sell it
Seen you at hot springs . Your truck there. Saturday.
Very cool
Why didn’t I come say “Hi”?
U
Good luck getting into some of some of these tight places with thar big ass gaurd on the front of that truck shit I was in a place so tight last wk I broke all my lug nut covers off so good luck with all that!!! Unless you don't get into tight places??
I’ve been in many tight places. At least that hunk of metal will earn me before I tear my hood off! 😂
Did you remember that dual antennas use RG-59 coax?
Yes. I always use the right co-ax. Learned that lesson years ago
The truck is really coming along! CFD kicks off this week. Time to hide for a week. Safe travels!
Lol

It works better than my Coronado. But not by much

Rusty did fine on the Coronado stairs. But this is probably better for him now that he’s getting do old
Clutch, thank you for the education per OOIDA! Never knew that information.
Have a question. You had noted a few years ago that the old truck wasn't regulated for California so you couldn't do loads from here in California. Is it the same with this newer truck?
The new truck could do CA but there’s other rules and regs that, as I recall, makes him avoid it, like the 55mph limit among others.
Glad to see you on comments again Beth! And no, current truck is not banned from California. I just don’t plan on going there. Fuel is way too high. And rates in and out are far too low. Plus, California hates Truckers

A good ole’ cheap fiberglass antenna will usually do a 👍 good job
Are you going to build a shelf system for the closet ?
I believe he’s just planning a simple shelf with vertical supports under it on each end so it’s easily removable from the built in cabinets.
Like an upside down U shape sort of.
The closet? No. But I will be adding shelves to the two larger cabinets

westernstar is a subsidiary of freightliner and Mercedes Benz
Yes they are
What does ooida do for company drivers. Been thinking about joining
Mainly line Mart said. If you’re looking to switch carriers. They can look at your agreements and advise if you’re getting a good deal
Ok cool
almost teamsters
Hmmmm
Is there Insurance good ?
Don’t know. But I’m sure it’s competitive
Deer slayers
wy lic plates go by county
Yes. But not the commercial apportioned plate I have on CT2 now. It just starts with an “A”
FMCSA.. JOKE. OOIDA. JOKE.
Hmmm
First!
OOIDA isn’t good for me
Everyone has an opinion. We all must just proceed based on our beliefs. It may not be right for you. But I’d right for me
👍💩
They are thieves
Hmmm
I used to work for a mega carrier and they are a joke screw that don’t work for mega carriers everyone
Yep
No it’s a waste of money I have been a member for 24 years and they haven’t done anything for me
Sorry to hear that. They’ve been a great help to me

I know you've struggled with trying to avoid being like your mom. Food for thought: ruclips.net/video/YaqtXarjSjs/видео.htmlsi=jf8y4AaXl8gCec9T
Interesting video thanks
