I'm a owner operator of taxi in the UK. I've just watched and been entertained by a video about truck tyres and shock. I'll spread the word about Monroe 😉 I watching this while cooking for my wife. Yep I was entertained. If you are open to suggestions or requests for topics: Could you tell us about your time in radio? Also what are some of the most unusual or memorable people you have met in the trucking life? What's are favourite stretches of road to drive for scenery? Do you ever stop to watch a sunset or a sunrise, and what's the most random thing you've ever seen in the middle of the road? All the best to you. Chris & Claire.
I worked in radio for 20 years. Dj in country, rock, and just about everything. My wife and I owned a station in Wyoming for 13 years. Too many unusual people to mention here. I’ll try to do a video on it. Definitely the weirdest thing I’ve seen in the road is a full sized bull with giant horns
When you get uneven wear on the inside of both tires, many times it is a problem of having a 55° steering radius instead of 45°s and moving to fast with the tires at extreme lock.
I drove a company 2016 Cascadia and it had 240k miles on the stock shocks. The truck rode like an International. Another driver told me to tell them to install new shocks. It rode like a new truck. I drive a 2021 Volvo 760 now. At 200k miles, I’m asking for new shocks.
Nice advice on shocks. I just had to replace gear box steers and drag link. Gonna grab some shocks when I find them! Was thinking about trying the new fox gas from Raneys
14 to 25 weeks waiting period.Look at the way they are designed.Dirt is going to be trapped in the bottom of the shock. They fvcked up their design just like Road King.
I wonder if Munroe gas shocks have changed any in the past couple of years? It seems to be difficult cross-referencing other brands for my 2020 cascadia. Particularly interested in Gabriel but it's difficult to find the correct ones while with Monroe it is not.
Not a fan of Monroe. I think the new drive shocks I put on just over a month ago are already shot. Wanted Gabriel, but all that was available was crappy Monroe
Thanks for the video.. Very helpfull! What steer tires would you recommend for a single axle that will be pulling a 40 foot gooseneck cattle trailer! New to the big truck world!
@@ClutchTrucker I have a BF Goodrich steers and have done about 124000 miles on those. I am noticing a wave like wear when I feel the tire with my hand on the passenger side outer side of the tire. Is this an alignment issue or a problem with the shock absorbers? Driver side steer tire is fine though.
Had monroes on steer n back truck axel. Noticed bumpy wear starting on steers especially on driver side. Put some gabriels on yesterday. Drove 250mi today and driver steer got really bad bumpy wear. Like bad. Anything yoi could suggest? Checked drag link no play on it. Thank you in advance
I just heard about Sachs from FB lately and now you said the same ...I was planning to get my next oem set from Freightliner.....but after what you said why not to try them ....where can I find Sachs and what part# for Cascadia steer/ drive ....thank you for the info 🙏
Don’t know the part number. I’ve been having a harder time finding Sachs lately. I’ve found the alliance to be just as good. If u can find a number on what you have now, google that, and u can usually find a crossover reference number for other manufacturers
@@ClutchTrucker thank you bro I did find it steer 315390 / drive 315395 ...I found them in OH so far...I’m trying to locate someone close to TX ..if not I’ll pay the $60 shipping 🤷♂️
Technically you’re supposed to be on duty at least if you’re going to any mechanic or doing any work on your truck although it’s going to be very hard for them to prove that
the worst truck shock absorbers I've installed on my old cascadia after 15k miles of oil leak. I bought myself a new 2020 cascade truck after 35k, changed both front shock absorbers and oil leaked again. I called the support service simply culturally sent to the ass. today the mileage on the truck is 120k my shock absorbers feel like a million passed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING MONEY on this company monroe 👎👎👎👎👎
You have to make sure you install them correctly. They only go on one way. There are slight differences on the sides. If you put one side on like the top or bottom and you have to bend the shock to get it into the next bracket it is on wrong.
@@allywilkeforsenate I took the truck brand new with mileage of 31 (not 31 thousand miles but only 31 miles) miles only. there were their factory shock absorbers. I think the factory itself knows how to install correctly.
Nice comments on quite good experience. Your opinion was really helpful 👌🏼
ThaNx this video was very helpful and entertaining at the same time 🚛👋🏼

All truckers in u.s. take time out of each day to watch sunrise and sunset, yessir.
I just bought a set of Gabriel cab shocks because the Monroe set only lasted a month
Mine did not last for a sh!t either.

Thank you, best fron5 tires in nation right now.?ty

I always do new shocks with new tires. Otherwise I follow the rule of 100K for steers and a max of 200K for drives

Michelin are the best, but very pricy. Firestone and bridgrstone are good

I r always liked the Gabriel’s. Much better than the Monroe’s
@@ClutchTrucker yeah, you said that in the video. Doesn't seem like you read my question old school
Great information. Thanks!
Glad I could help
I tried Monroe one time, and they all blown up with in 6k never ever again
Thanks ct👍

What is FB?,everyone talks in code anymore.
Great video what size impact do I need to buy
I have a Ryobi 1/2” driver. Seems to handle most jobs fine. Bought the impact sockets at that tool shop in Truck World on Hubbard, OH
1 inch Milwaukee and you will never lose the battle against a nut.

Have you ever heard of Bulldog Shocks ?

I'd I knew before I wouldn't buy Monroe Magnum, 3 pairs to the trash
Yep. Monroe sucks
How did the FS507 work out for you sir?
They lasted about 120k. Not bad
Where can we buy gas charged shock sir? Any info
Many Freightliner have them. You know they’re gas charged if they have the plastic band on them to keep them from expanding in the box
@@ClutchTrucker ohh got you thanks you new subcriber here cheers
Thanks
My 2022 cascadia Came with Monroe shocks and they are horrible
I don’t like Monroe
