Really fantastic to see the boat and docking manoeuvres like this for single handers. Throwing all the lines to the dock before stepping off the boat is a great tip. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I often ride third hand on a 50 footer. This feels like time spent riding along picking up language and ideas without any pressure.

Good call repositioning during light winds! That 180 degree turn was no small feat

There was just no other options! it was sooo narrow in there! sometimes you have to use brains over brawn to move a boat :) As it was, it was almost enjoyable!

Great effort, you made it look easy, I would of had the mooring lines on a bight so they could be let go onboard.

An ‘amid ships spring line’ is always the best first line ashore for short handed docking .

it’s a useful go-to in many circumstances- but not a remedy for everything :)

@@CSMtheMariner No agreed, there are “no remedies for everything” but an amidships spring is usually the best choice for first line ashore.

Nice job, same methods I use on my Rival but that’s not 85’ long. Mind you' your boat goes in reverse better I imagine. Andy UK

I feel happiest when going backwards in tight spaces-the high aspect ratio keel means the bow blows off down wind very easily but she turns on a dime!

My dad put some LED lights on his spreaders, it really lights up the whole deck good. Might be nice for your boat

great idea! I was thinking that myself -I’m have an LED foredeck light but something on the spreaders would light up the whole deck really nicely !

as a owner of a full keel yacht I am jealous of your turning ability but not your size

Doing the ‘full keel shuffle’ trying to dock 100ft+ boats in the past, with a crowd gathering on the dock to assign me points for technicality & artistry, has taught me to appreciate what I have!
