Sam Ryder is a singer/songwriter from London who has been in music with various projects since 2009. He formed rock band The Morning After who released two albums on Rising Records UK and JVC Victor in Japan. Their albums "You Can’t Hurt Steel" and "Legacy" have since shifted thousands of copies.

I hope his 2nd place achievement for the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 gives him the recognition, from the great music record giants, that he deserves! He gave us Europeans one of the greatest performances in the history of the contest, he would have been such a rightful winner! His song, "Space Man" is now my all-time favorite Eurovision entry of all time. I wish this wonderful person great success, fortune and well-being, both mental and physical, in his life! 🇬🇷❤🇬🇧

Swear! I was about to say I wish he was my neighbor! Every single time I'd see him I'd ask him to sing for me. And he seems like sun a fun person!
I live next to an Opera singer and she practices every single day, twice a day. The thing is that she only makes random noices and is not cool, but on Sundays she sings some songs and she sings beautiful, like this dude. This dude has to practice different vocal tones, etc. However; when he decides to sing than yeah what a bless to live next to him.

So ...Two days away from Eurovision 2022 I find out this guy. THIS GUY! Is singing for us this year.
It was joy, shortly followed by annoyance as the song is ok but not quite on par with his inmense talent to be honest. He might not shine as much as he could have. Good to see him there though.
Edit: He killed it anyway and just won Eurovision 2022 in my eyes. Made UK proud.
Yes, the high notes are impressive, but I'm personally more impressed with how he manages to emulate female singers so well with a voice that is clearly a male singing voice (unlike Dimash or Mitch Grassi etc. who you could easily mistake for female singers if you closed your eyes) but Sam somehow captures the vibe of each female singer (esp. Adele and Sia) while still clearly having a male voice which is hella impressive to me

No autotune, but not entirely without help. It does sound like there is a slight reverb effect added to his vocals that can be heard a bit. Not much though. Doesn’t take away from how insanely good his voice is.

You can definitely hear something if you close your eyes and listen near the end of each line sung but hes definitely 100% got some pipes without it. It just cleans the singing up

My dude is so insanely talented. The crazy thing is he has a fairly normal voice, but everything he does is perfect. The control, the tone, the power, the pitch, the runs. It's so good.

I'm British, but it is a bittersweet feeling for me because I know the song isn't as great as his talent. I don't mind the result. Happy he is there, but IMO he needs to return with something as good as this next year. He could make capital Eurovision history

The only good thing that came out of the COVID19 social restrictions is that we got to stay home and spend more time online and discover all these talents that have been around but somehow are not as famous as they should be. Watched some of Sam's videos before all the EV hype and thought he was good but taking the time to listen to him properly, he's got one of the most versatile, controlled and naturally effortless voices I've ever heard. My favorite thing about him is how he makes look so effortless but we know how difficult these songs are.
What I like about this guy is he has absolute infinite range. He makes every song sound like it was written for him and sang by him the first time we ever heard it. His face and spirit is so sweet and friendly looking , you know, enough to sing you to sleep and stuff but also looks as he could man a Viking ship and pillaged an entire nation in his spare time

id like to emphasize how incredibly difficult it is to not only model your voice after someones but also as a male to cover a females voice and inflections so perfectly is serious god given talent and earned hard work, incredible.
