- Today I review the NEW Calzone from Pieology! ($10.49) I filled mine with red onions, mushrooms, bacon, pepperoni and sausage! They also fill it with mozzarella and ricotta cheeses!
The new Craft Your Own Calzone option allows fans to personalize their calzones with up to five toppings, for a unique and satisfying experience with every order. Each Craft Your Own Calzone comes with a choice of side sauce for dunking.
To celebrate, Pieology is offering a special promotion through its Pies and Perks rewards program. From February 6 to March 19, 2024, Pie Life Members who purchase a Craft Your Own Calzone or Pizza can unlock Pies and Perks status through the end of 2024.
Pies and Perks members receive a free side item once a day with the purchase of a pizza or calzone. The side items include a beverage, a crisp side salad, or a cookie.

We have something here called a Benerly. Its a calzone/panzarotti filled with just mozzarella and brushed in garlic butter. Sooooooooo good!
Looks awesome ! Now I am starving and going to make one of these on a cookie sheet that fills up the entire oven but I am going to load it with chicken, turkey, ground beef, greeen pepper, red pepper, jalopeno pepper, mushrooms, mozzarella chunks, parmesan, pepperoncini peppers and it will be four inches thick and topped with spicy marinara sauce ! BOOOOOOOOOOOOM 😀😀😀

Florida has a few.. one in Orlando area, one in Tampa area and a handful in the Miami area. I'll have to try it the next time I'm in Miami. Looks delicious, and you and I have similar tastes when it comes to good pizza. 😎

In Michigan a one topping calzone is 10 bucks...so that's a pretty good price for 5 toppings I would say
What I got in here "bacon, onion, sausage, mushrooms... what's the 5th one what's the 5th one BACON!" Lol not nitpicking just thought that was funny, also cant go wrong with double bacon 😅

PizzaRev sells calzones, too, and have so for a long time. But after they started selling them, they started to lose business. Once there were over 200 PizzaRevs. Today there's one. I hope Pieology doesn't have the same fate.
It kind of has to be in a college town. College town calzone places tend to last longer than most (depending on the campus makeup).
The only Pieology in the SF Bay Area (San Jose) closed down. The nearest one is now 30 minutes away in Morgan Hill on the outskirts of Silicon Valley. They seem to be the worst-performing DIY pizza chain in the Bay Area.
Was pepperoni the 5th topping? 😂
That's about the price PizzaRev sells their calzones, or at least when they had them.

That monstrosity looks awesome! Great cheese pull and filled up well. A little overdone in the middle and too charred for me, but wow it is great otherwise! I think it is great that they allow 5 toppings in addition to the cheese. Most places allow 2-4 toppings for a higher price but include the cheese within that so you get cheated! Just dump a bit of sauce on top to avoid dipping disaster. The other day I was trying to cut my calzone on a small surface and it flipped over and the sauce cup was all over my carpet. GRRRRR
