I really don't like how in the beginning cutscene they use the Spartan and Elite models from 4; they are not accurate to 2552 and before
343 the studio that gives continuity the middle finger (And my main question is how is the cryo tube that chief was in not in the hanger anymore, letalone where is the hanger)
Yeah, I did not like that either. Also the Spartan being suited up in the prologue was wearing MARK-6 armour, unless it is not set before 2552 otherwise still chronologically incorrect and annoying for a Halo nerd like me.
TheNinjaGumball tbh I think you guys are just being nit picky, while I, and from what I can assume, you are interested in the lore of Halo most who play it are not, therefore I think the reason they used that particular armor variant was as to not confuse the average player.
Yep, u got that right. The lore is what got me into the series as well as trying it at a friends house.

It was said in jest. But honestly, I pity anyone who plays that mission more than they have to. Once was enough for me. In my opinion, it's the most frustrating and least-fun mission in the entire Halo franchise.

I love how this is one of the only halo games where the AR is worth anything.
I won’t lie, I liked this mission the most, I think. I didn’t like most of them, but this one was fun for some reason.
It sort of throws you back a little to the beginning of the first Halo game and Halo 2. The rest of Halo 4 was so-so.
As an added bonus it would have been funny to include the 50+ times that any other person would end up dying trying to beat this level on legendary.

I love your walkthroughs. Not a noob, but I have picked up some good tips from you. I just finished Halo 4 on legendary this morning and got the Legend achievement. No more MCC campaigns to play through until ODST is re-released. :(

Been a while since I took a look at your channel! I was able to beat the game on legendary on my own. It was surprisingly easy for the most part! But I'll probably try it again with your guide since the other ones were excellent and legit.

Is it just me, or did they completely change the look of the Forward Unto Dawn? It looks nothing like it did in Halo 3. As a side note, I think Chief had more lines of dialogue in this single mission than the entire Bungie trilogy.

the game that is praised yet the developers had no idea what to do with the chief even. And the chief is probably one of the easiest aspects of the Halo formula to get right. Designed as a suit of armor for the player to put on over a character, throwing out but sassy one liners in cut scenes... You just have hm be silent 80% of the time and then say badass things in cutscenes... And it just so happens that the few one liners he still has in this game are also his best lines in this game XD
But the 343 developers literally said that they wanted the opposite XD
They do not even know this very simple approach of developement bungie employed...
The very intro cut scene already shows that so glaringly...
(Another funny thing with the intro scene with Halsey is that it contains OG plasma rifles as well as a brute chieftain... Both do not feature in gameplay XD afaIk)

They deliberately rejected _any_ developmental approaches used by Bungie that made the original games such huge successes; out of spite or just to be "different." Probably a little of both.

I said to my friend as we watched together, "If the wreckage of one UNSC frigate is able to actually take out, like, a cruiser, I'm going to rage." And then that one missile blew that thing apart. I deeply hope that the big alien thing in the background was the one that really did it, or it was a nuke, or, I dunno. Something. The lore, the lore hurts so bad.

Well you can always say that the covenant ships didn't get their shields up for some asinine reason, and since the covenants a shadow of it's former self, the cruisers are shoddily built.
It was a very very light covie cruiser.
If you are also going for a cinematic experience for the walkthrough, I recommend you turn on subtitles, unless you have already recorded all the footage.

I will never understand that line from Chief. 'These Covenant seem more fanatical than the ones we fought before.' 1: What are you even basing that on, they're all speaking a language Chief probably does not understand, and I doubt Cortana is running translations for him in the middle of combat. 2: How in the fuck are these knock-off Covenant MORE fanatical than the ones who wanted to sacrifice all life in the Galaxy on a whimsical promise of a, 'Great Journey'? Like, seriously, I don't dislike Halo 4's story, personally. But that line is just... Why does it even exist. Among many other things in this now botched franchise.

Bad writing: The Chief could've said something more sensible in his situation (after skipping 4 years of galactipolitics) such as this following statement:
“These guys are way more trigger happy/erratic than they were 4 years ago. Is the covenant Civil War still going on, or did things go to shit?”

These elites are actually a part of Jul Mdamas Covenant which is hostile to both the UNSC and Swords of Sangheilios
If i die once do i have to do it all over again because im trying to get the master chiefs armor in multiplayer

Brian Carroll II Your right about using the plasma pistol overcharge to bring down an Elite's shield. The AR just takes too long and you can find plasma pistols everywhere.

of course you can simply bypass the encounter before activating the missle by simply heading to it before the enemy drop down. For such a short level I felt disapointed you could do this
Grunts look COMPLETELY different than before. in my opinion, they are uglier
+Zedan Mutlu they have armor so they aren't very exposed but if you zoom in on them in halo 4 you will find a butt.

I have no idea how long this would take so this is completely hypothetical but when Halo 4 comes to PC, would you consider playing a campaign mod that rebalances gameplay in ways you and others have spoken about in the past? Elements such as altering Promethean teleport/shield recharge, ammo placements and removing one hit melee deaths.
Only if someone else has the resources and desire to make it.
@@Hokiebird428 that's what I was thinking, similar to how you streamed Ruby's rebalanced mod for the original version of Halo 2 PC.
In halo 1,2, reach, you used the plasma pistol to deplete the shields of the elites, which also works fine in halo 4. Here you use the ''useless'' assault rifle against bothe elites and knights. Is there no other standard but effective way to deal with knights ?
maison raider The Assault Rifle is far from useless in Halo 4, it's just never available. And no, there is "no other standard but effective way to deal with Knights" other than to spam the Light Rifle, or use power-weapons against them.
I think this is the only Halo game where the classic Elite Combo isn't effective (at least without swapping out plasma pistols every 5 seconds)
Jedi Spartan 38 at least the assault rifle is very useful to make up for that.

I'm doing all Halos on legendary again since I had to make a new account due to a drunken blunder. I got access to the account recently but my badge is now tour 8 so I figure I'll just redo. H4 is excessively aggravating. Will make use of these. However I do have to say composer was a great level! Forgot the rest. Midnight was hell until I used grav hammer speed boost to get to portal in crawler tower

one of the most annoying aspects on Halo 2 Legendary were its bloody ridiculously perfect Jackal snipers. Glad they were toned down for Halo 4
Getting through reach-3 in chronological story order while using these guides and then getting to 4 hearing a complete different tone with hokie really says a lot about how shit this game and Halo 5 is it's quite sad and this may be a hot take but I'm glad 343 redeemed themselves with Halo Infinite imo. I for obvious reasons haven't played infinite on legendary yet but I plan too soon

The elites are so pathetically weak and stupid in halo 4 on legendary its so easy to kill them and avoid them when they carry energy swords or fuel rod cannons. The only real challenge was the promethean knights which were annoying repetitive.
I also find chief looks like his wearing a hunk of metal parts/junk as armor halo Ce to halo 3 armor felt like real armor.
@pletskoo I personally prefer his old armor style I find halo 4 and 5's armor like pieces of metal stuck together.

When i did this mission on legendary every time elite saw me they threw like 50 grenades with like 0.1 seconds of reaction so me trying to complete game on legendary is impossible
Why didn't you grab the storm rifle at 8:35? aren't plasma weapons great for stripping Elite shields?
They are, but they consume ammo so rapidly in this game that the Assault Rifle is actually the better choice. The AR is actually extremely accurate and great at stripping shields in this game, you just don't ever get to use it for very long, if it's available at all.

Now, please hear me out, I'm not trying to start an argument, but I saw quite a few "elites" wielding storm rifles throughout this vid, and it seems like you had a good amount of SR's at your disposal. I'm not trying to give you tips or pressure you to use the SR, because you're obviously much more experienced and skilled than I am, but did you not use the rifle because the amount of firepower needed to drain the shielding of several elites is actually greater than the amount of firepower available in the batteries of several SRs? Are the Assault rifles as good against shields as you said? Or is the reason for your non-preference of the SR a combination of both those reasons?
Doge - You basically answered your own question, it’s a combination of those two reasons. Try it yourself: run the mission using AR/Pistol, and again using Storm Rifle/Pistol (It’s not a very long mission, so this shouldn’t take too long). See which one you think works better.

@@holdguard4624 It might be because a majority of his videos are walkthroughs and a number of others are just streams. If you were to look up 'halo legendary' videos, I can almost guarantee that the first five or so will be "legendary speedrun" videos. Most folks don't look past those first five or so videos, thus they don't find smaller channels like this. Heck, I only found this channel a week ago and I think it was just randomly recommended to me since I watch lots of other Halo content.
Besides halo 3 this is the only game on legendary the assault rifle is halfway decent
