It’s interesting hearing Tim tell his story from the 60s and part of the 70s. I’m glad he didn’t have to go to Vietnam! I’ve seen plenty of documentaries and war movies about the Vietnam war and that place sounds like all kinds of nope! Also while watching y’all help the new stacker I had an idea. What if Tim created a “silver stacker starter pack” for new stackers who want to get into stacking but don’t know what they want? It could have various different kinds of silver in it for them to examine and study when they get home and hopefully help them figure out what kind of silver they want to stack. Is that something y’all have discussed in his shop already? He could sell them in his shop.
i wish the coin shops in san antonio were as talkative, informative & friendly. All of our shops post a young kid in front to be a cashier only while the older men sit at desk in back pretending to be busy at their computers. They don't want us wasting their time.

So there's a whole bunch of different testing machines but from what I've seen there's a "scale" so to speak. Green means it's silver, yellow means it has somewhat of silver content like a silver plated coin, and red means there is no silver whatsoever. And yeah sometimes you can tell by weight. I think Yankee did a video on fake gold coins or maybe it was Silver Dragons and basically the fake gold coin was a bunch of tungsten with a coat of gold paint.
that fake was easy to spot, apart from being magnetic, it didn't even flip right, still don't understand how the forgers make that simple mistake, is it something to do with how they press the fakes ? be interesting to know.

@HectorHernandez if your using sd bullion, I just found out you need over a certain threshold in your order (I believe its 1000$) to get rid of that tax (Which is probably just a fee). I wanted 25 kangaroos and increased it to 50 and it went away after the checkout. Happy stacking!

I love the college tuition story. I started college in 1970. I went to a private university. My tuitition was $1,650 a YEAR. Room and board was $950. It's over 20 times that now.
China bypasses counterfeit laws by selling them as "souvenirs "... I saw a video back around 2014 of just one incredibly giant warehouse in china that had perhaps millions of counterfeit coins. They had virtually every type imaginable and many different dates, different countries... Unfortunately that video is no longer on RUclips.

I just made my second trip to buy silver. I've been watch your videos for around 3 or 4 months now. I live paycheck to paycheck so it's really hard for me right now to come up with the money, and my wife doesn't share in my enthusiasm for it. Nice combination of Silver you put together for a new stacker. Some ASE's, Maples, even some Constitutional. Yeah, the Benjamin and Kennedy half dollars are alright, but honestly the Walking Liberty is by far the best looking 90% the US mint has ever produced. Even more so than Morgan's and Peace dollars IMO. Hope your new friend comes back to get more and can pick up some Gold too. VT247

With silver and gold where they are right now, you're in a very good spot to start. The only thing different from 5, 10 or 20 years ago ... is the PREMIUMS. Even the bigger online bullion dealers have not lowered them in past couple years. Keep stacking, enjoy every ounce!

The Royal Spanish Mint is going to release an edition of the Lince every year and it is said that the first edition will be revalued. There are only 12000 copies for the whole world.

I think the forgers don't care about in hand testing. Their aiming more for mailorder/online sales. Grab the money and run.
