GREAT VIDEO!!! I broke a bone in my wrist in 1993. Had it surgically repaired in 1994. A year later, the doctor let me bowl. Started with the 6 pound ball. It struck OK on high hits. Moved up to the 8 pound ball. THIS IS THE DEATH WEIGHT.!!! As you found out, it's not heavy enough to get to the 5 pin and it also goes in front of the 10 pin. Once I graduated to the 10 pound ball, I was able to strike more consistently. The pocket was 4 pin high and swish the rack light. Pocket hits left 5 pins, 8 pins, 10 pins or any combo of the three. The best league game with the 10 pound ball was 279 (left a swish 7). Valiant effort!! I concur with the odds of a 12 bagger with an 8 pound ball. Good luck & very entertaining.
I love The House as well as Brad and Kyle, but the comedic factor doesn’t compare. I’d pay to sit and watch you edit these to see you crack up at each piece🤣
You have become my favorite bowling RUclipsr. I kept wanting to yell, "Go BROOK" after your 6th attempt. Lol. I used to do this kinda stuff every Friday and Saturday night at 1am when I would close the bowl I worked at. Keep it up man.
I grew up bowling. My aunt managed Live Oak Lanes in Savannah GA and I bowled my last game at the age of12. My best game was a 148 if I remember correctly. 30 years later some friends from work asked me to join them bowling. I told them how long it had been they said it was just for fun so I said okay. When we got to the lanes I started looking for a ball that fit my grip and one of the first ones that fit perfect was a ball that was no more than ten pounds at most. I used no spin and lined up on the far right using a straight line shot to the pocket. Even though there was no hook I was finding the pocket constantly and the higher velocity of my throws was creating some incredible pin action. First game I rolled a 178 second a 236 third game 211. Try a no hook throw on your next light ball video and see how it goes.
2:20 - the rare lilly. Chris Barnes managed to do that on a 16 pound ball years ago. EDIT: Just curious if anyone has ever thrown say a 20 pound ball modified on lanes?
I had a team mate who got injured and threw an 8 pound for a few weeks before graduating to a 10 and 12 that season. A lot of these hits look familiar. He actually went on to win an eagle at nationals throwing his regular weight equipment.
@@thaconqueefador1970 That's unfortunate. Have you thought of switching hands? A guy in our league did that because of a bad leg about 10 years ago. He was 220-230 right handed and is now high teens left. He also shot his first left handed 300 a couple years back and has been creeping up on 800.
@@TheInsaneShecklador I'm left handed so that would be awkward shooting right handed. Plus I only bowl a few times a month if that so it's not a big deal.
@@thaconqueefador1970 If you're just bowling a few times a month for fun than it probably doesn't matter what weight you throw. Just have fun and make sure to not push your shoulder too far past it tolerance. If you decide to get more serious switching hands is probably the only way. It's not easy but it can be done. It took a few years for the guy I know to get consistent at it.
same problem i had when i hurt my bicep tendon and 8pound was the heaviest i could hold. the ball bounces off of the pins. at least it was more entertaining than my awful efforts at left handed bowling. i still posted a better score with 8 pounds than i could left handed with 15 any chance you can try again with less axis rotation? get it more end over end so all the revs are translated into speed when the ball gets to the dry. i found you just had to smash the 8pounder into the pins with as much speed as possible to make up for the lack of weight
New challenge for you: take this very ball, go to Wichita, and bowl on the 50 pound rack of pins that Packy just shot a video on. You can’t leave until you shoot over 200
Energy of motion of a mass m is E=(1/2)m(V^2). To get equal energy of motion with an m of only m/2 (half the weight) you need a higher (V^2) term to compensate. So (V^2) has to be twice as large (2 times (V^2)) in order to cancel the m being only half as big. How much faster of a (velocity V) would you need? Simple math yields that the NEW V must be the square root of 2 times larger than our original V so that when the NEW V is squared it’s term will be twice as large. The square root of 2 is about 1.414 so the new throw speed must be about 41% faster to get the same energy into the half weight ball. [all else being equal] Of course all things are not equal since things like how the ball reacts to oil patterns at lower weight. By adjusting ball speed we can make the energy of motion the same at the head pin for the lighter ball compared to the heavier ball. How about momentum (defined as mass times velocity). In a collision situation,
i bowl with an 8lb ball but i bowl straight and i can't tell you how many times i share your look of amazement that i didn't get a strike lol. I wonder what size is better
My experience with light balls to get them to carry when I worked at a bowling alley messing around was play outside around 1st 2nd arrow slow speed lot of hook/hand and get as much angle as you can from that outside into the pocket I always seemed to get better carry doing that
It’s nice to see another channel that puts effort into editing and production value. I just did a video on our new layout system. Let me know what ya think…
Enjoyed the video, thank you!!! I think you need to come back to this challenge though!!! Go at it like you're not a pro... Toss it hard with little to no English!
Hey i dont know if you’ll see this, but I’m happy you are going to take RUclips and bowling more serious. I really think you have the potential to make it pro and have a huge following on RUclips, you are absolutely hilarious
needed to get the ball way out to the right where its real dry so the ball has more time to roll out and drive. still wouldnt carry 12 in a row but it would help
It all depends on what you like and if you feel like you can handle a heavier ball a 15 will hit a little harder I went to a 14lb for a while if I didn’t nail the pocket I didn’t strike I got no messengers no mixers basically no pin action only way I could strike was dead flush
@@allenthomas914 could simply be your release and ball rotation. If you watch my video with the 12lb VS 15lb you can see that I made the 12lb hit almost harder than the 15lb

Love the videos brother! For sure the most entertaining bowling videos getting put out right now! Keep ‘em coming!
I bowled a 279 last night. All X's but a 9 spare in the 4th
Brooooo content is amazing! You’re mad funny! Have enjoyed every video so far

This channel will blow up in no time. Great knowledge and skill with the best humor of any bowling channel. Great stuff.
The Mac demarco song in the background 🥰
Crazy deflection! Solid pocket sends ball right of the ten pin.
I'm having flashbacks to youth bowling. I think I had the same strike rate back in the day. Another awesome vid man!

Pretty cool watching all the effort you put into trying to just strike. An awful lot of work. Much applause 👏

Eight pound ball is the best for tricks and fun bowling. ( To do spares) Thanks for the video.
Hands down the best bowling channel for sure!!
You sir, are the only ever person I have seen consistently bowl left and right handed. Something I can do, but very few others seem able. Congrats!
I like to practice it once in a while 😂 I want to one day bowl 300 with it so I may end up drilling some left handed equipment
