The LED eye illumination (cosmetic external lighting) can be filtered out by throwing a righthand circular polarizer over the LED, and left hand circular polarizer over the eye. Even better? Left hand on both, and a quarter wave plate inside, *and* a RHCP film over the display. Except the display probably already has a polarizer unless its DLP, so you'd have to see which is what and work from there, so you wouldn't be pumping light out your eye sockets if you wanted to go stealth mode. *shrugs*. Oh, and the circular polarizers and quarter wave plates come as essentially cling films for tens of dollars per square foot.
Doesnt sort the optics out. Your eye wont be able to focus on the screen and surroundings at the same time without a bit of wizardry. Id like to see them try.
