They actually didn't seem to aggressive at least compared to other kinds of hornets. Once you put the nest in the bag the others started to buzz around a bit but not attacking you.
When Gumby was collecting them like Patrick collects jellyfish, I thought he was doing that safely secure them and then relocate them to the wilderness. Then the beating of them in that yellow colored net told me otherwise...
Asian hornets are a hell on earth of their own kind. Besides being aggressive, I believe their stingers are exceptionally long. They could probably pierce a normal suit, like the type people use for honeybees. The suits these dudes are wearing are probably like battle armor for nest removal. LoL
Yes, that is precisely what I was about to type. First of all, (as I'm sure you know) V. mandarinia doesn't build aerial nests, and of course the size and color pattern are very different. It seems that people want to call ANY Asian species of Vespa a 'giant murder hornet'. A couple years ago I watched a video from Japan in which it was quite plain the insects were Vespa crabro (and the location of the nest was consistent with this), but another commenter insisted they were V. mandarinia and got quite agitated with me when I didn't agree. (Hopedly I've learned a few things after studying them for half a century...)
@@VictorFursov You're most welcome! These videos provide opportunities to become aware of others around the world that study and appreciate these insects.
dont understand why these removals are not done during the night when the nest is "inactive" and full - in tghe parks department thats how we do it - nighttime baby!!!
Yes, that's true, but a pest control operator wants to make the best use of his time, and he knew that spraying at the end will solve the problem of the returning field workers. I'm in the US, and I often collected colonies of Dolichovespula during the daytime (netting as many returning workers as possible), but I usually collected Vespula (yellow jackets) at night. I collected European hornets (Vespa crabro) during the daytime because returning workers were easy to net as they circled around me.
Those were not the Asian Giant Hornets. Those looked similar to our Bald Faced Hornets. The Asian Giants are BIG, and they're ferocious defenders of their nests.
Yup just big Asian hornets maybe you’ve seen the vid where the yakuza pulls up with paintball guns and blast a garbage can sized hive of these smaller ones
As much as I hate that it gets cold for 4 months of the year where I live I am happy to know that the hornets won’t be able to enlarge their nests past a certain date. Not sure if this part in Asia has cold weather, but man I have seen some real large nests in videos from Australia and some just a few hundred miles south of me where the weather seems to always be warm.
After the initial takedown and bagging of the nest, if you had a ten gallon wet/dry vacuum (1/5 filled within-soap water), an 8-foot hose, and a five-inch diameter suction-end bell-fitting, you'd be able to suck out of the air (where most of the nest used to be) all fugitive hornets/wasps without all the flailing required by a net. Let electricity do all the hardest work.
Loved how he beats the hornets against the wall. 😁☠
2:15 smacked the shit out of those hornets. 🤣
Yeah yeah that’ll teach you build nests in a building
I didn't realize gumby worked in residential pest removal. Maybe next time he can bring Pokey to help???
Hilarious!
Should have sent you with that big mouth no need for a net.
KERMIT WORKS IN HUMAN RESOURCES
The block heads probably released those hornets to trap pokey anyway!
He also speaks Mandarin
This guy “ok, we’re a few feet away let’s suit up.”
Me: “ok, we’re a few miles away, let’s suit up.”
Me: I'm suiting up just watching this

I'm glad they had those helpful captions in the video. It really helped tell the story.
lol
They actually didn't seem to aggressive at least compared to other kinds of hornets. Once you put the nest in the bag the others started to buzz around a bit but not attacking you.
Nah yellow jackets and Africanized honey bees are way more aggressive.
He might have been sprayed with repellent or something, you can't see everything in the video.
they were not Asian Murder Hornets
@@fbeale3537 I knew these hornets seemed a little smaller.
@@marceld8961 yes far to small and definitely not aggressive enough for murder Hornets.
Imagine spending all day being a wasp to come home and home is gone... "bro.. wtf? How yall just up and move like that???"
Good God. You guys invented gunpowder. You invented fireworks. Those are key elements to utilize when removing these nest. Bring some BOOM!
An absolute fantastic extraction. 👍
This is what Gumby looks like in Among Us
1:43 goddamn his suit is open O.O
nice bee suit looks super safe + padded + very well ventilated
That’s the funniest looking costume ever. 😂
GUMBY
Those two what looked like vents on the back of the bee suit are there just in case he Sh*t his pants !! LOL!
awesome. What are the two circles on their backs though is that for ventilation or something?
Yes, it is. The protective suit is so thick that it is not letting any air in. So there is ventilation holes😄
That is the best and easiest way to get a nest I have seen.
None hornets were harmed during this job. Except for those on the tie part.... And the ones after... well nevermind
When Gumby was collecting them like Patrick collects jellyfish, I thought he was doing that safely secure them and then relocate them to the wilderness. Then the beating of them in that yellow colored net told me otherwise...
That's the strangest looking bee suit. Is it more protective than the usual ones, necessary to deal with Asian hornets?
Asian hornets are a hell on earth of their own kind. Besides being aggressive, I believe their stingers are exceptionally long. They could probably pierce a normal suit, like the type people use for honeybees. The suits these dudes are wearing are probably like battle armor for nest removal. LoL
I want a scuba suit like that
The average giant asian hornet stinger is about a quarter inch long so the usual bee suits are not protective at all.
Imagine the poor soul that found that out the hard way.
@@sawmill035 exactly the same thought
Watching on 0:25 I suggest that is is not giant Vespa mandarinia, but smaller species with dark color, Asian hornet Vespa velutina. Best wishes!

Eddie Murphy's old SNL GUMBY outfit is being put to good use! Hahahahahah!
The hornets that where in the top of the bag sacrificed for that bag tie🤣😂
I love the suit designer...none other than Gumby himself!!!!
Now THESE are the suits I'd wear!! Definitely.
A flame thrower
Over here in the States we just use a long pole and an M-1000 tied to the end of it 😂
'MURICA!!
Beautiful work, nicely done.
For a moment they all seemed to be trying to figure what he was. 'Hey, what is that?! I don't know!!!'
Even though I didn't understand a word of what was said, the video speaks for itself.
That nest, beautiful, but deadly.
Those Gumby Bee Suits look awesome 👌
That was satisfying actually.
Wow, the protective clothing is amazing. I’m scared of bees, wasps etc. I would do that job if I had that protective clothing. They must be expensive.
pure elegance, humanism and waspism... crazy americanos use blow torch, liquid iron, silver, even nitrogen...
So smooth and clean
love the outfit . where can i buy
Full HASMAT suits, WOW!
0:32 Gumby after his show from the good old days was no long a hit. I am glad that he is employed and earning an honest living.
Félicitations pour ce nid BRAVO
Looks like a deadly version of the teletubbies!.
I’m Gumby god dammit
Step 1: Manhandle nest by ripping it from roof
Step 2: Wildly swat at remaining wasps
Step 3: Use spray to kill hornets that might sting
I love the Gumby suits.😂
This was an excellent demonstration of hornet nest removal, but not an excellent video, unfortunately. An M80 was definitely needed.
Gotta love the gumby uniform.
Where can I get the Gumby suit?

You should upload more of these.
I was waiting for the funny part, looked like one of those Japanese shows with that green suit on......😂
That looked like a small early season nest in the summertime, like in late July.
Catterpie! I CHOOSE YOU! (Throws pokeball)
I’m assuming the hornets are one of the inspirations for Murder Drones
"There you go, ma'am. That'll be 4M yen."
So I guess dressing as Gumby provides a calming factor for the hornets.
Those camo bags look like something from Bape.
Why didn’t he just use a hoover 🤦
that was a good clean capture
Would a back pack style vacuum be more useful than a net for removal of remaining hornets?
Vacuum? More like flame thrower. The only option is to kill it with fire.

Can you imagine if he dropped the bag!

Why does it need English subtitles? Are the visuals not clear enough?
Lol I think what’s happening is pretty clear. You seem like the type of person who requests subtitles for a silent film

@@scottw.3258 It would just be interesting to know what’s being said on the occasions where they speak.
Omg Gumby back!
Murder hornet? Is that a new species of hornet? Maybe they should pass a law that makes it illegal for these murder hornets to murder.
Why don’t they smoke them out so that they’ll get sedated?
Asian giant hornets is the proper name!
If I see that, I call in a 2000lb JDAM strike on the building
But the caption showed many buildings, most of which were broken.... 🧐
Could they at least make a bee suit that didn't make them look like Gumby?
If you put the bag in a freezer for 24 hours, you'll have freeze dried hornets that you can save.
Why wouldn't you smoke it first?
Perfect job, look easy but it's not, they done it many many times
