- Russia’s foreign minister accused the United States on Tuesday of holding the entire West “at gunpoint” and impeding international cooperation, a claim the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations denounced as “hypocrisy” by a country that invaded neighboring Ukraine. The finger-pointing came at Russia ’s showcase event during its presidency of the U.N. Security Council this month, and it chose the topic - “Multilateral cooperation for a more just, democratic and sustainable world order.” Russia’s top diplomat, Sergey Lavrov, flew in from Moscow to preside.

True 👍, There was nothing wrong with Northstream. It was only a cheaper way of transporting oil and gas and contracts can always be renewed or not, so they could have walked away if they didn't like the contract. Countries do that all over (Pipelines). Pipeline is still being used from Russia to other parts of Europe. Why Russia? Simple, because that's where the raw material is. If Germany for example had enough oil below them, they would drill, use, and supply to other parts, it's simple math. The problem was and still is the US and NATO self-righteousness and condescending stance towards others. Germany and other part had been receiving oil, gas and other raw materials and products from Russia for years and there was no issue until US as usual started pressing Russia on multiple areas to bow down to them and of course used NATO to say if you don't do what we say, we will stop business with you and put sanctions, guess what, US took the contract to supply Europe with gas so the dependence of Europe on US increases and the only winner is the US. But even with that Stupid EU move, had to buy it more expensive due to transport cost and US oil prices went up in their country as they had to use their reverses too. And what is even more stupid with the European is they are now buying Russian oil through 3rd parties at a higher price, I mean how stupid is that. Russia earns more on oil and gas than prior to ending Northstream, Europeans and US are paying more because of ego. They don't have an option, in fact, they were planning to build another pipeline to Italy and on the northern part of Africa I believe to increase oil intake from Africa too, not that its bad, but they are all in OPEC where Russia sits at the high table in decision-making along with other major oil drilling countries that have a say and have a good relation with Russia. Now that makes them more stupid coz they have no option than to buy oil from around the world including from China and India who enjoy cheap oil from Russia, that hurts when you could just buy it next door. Same for Wheat, fertilizer, they are still buying coal and uranium just to name a few, I mean if you don't have something, and you need it, you have to get it from somewhere. The US and NATO has to stop its condescending nature to others when it's clear that they've fail over and over again, name Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. US and NATO have destabilized nations and killed more civilians in modern history more than all the other countries combined, that was not Putin or Russia. US fears when others are doing good, US and EU NATO members have been in many countries for decades siphoning resources and doing nothing for the people except dish out peanuts and china just in 10 years or so, has transformed most of these nations with technology and infrastructure now they started anti China campaign, the people in those countries just realized how they have been handled for years by the west and what they have been missing out on and want most of US and the EU NATO members out of their resources, some are even refusing to take IMF loans that have ridiculously high interest rates for those that need the loans the most, keeping them their slaves not just begging for money (every country borrows of course), but also making it harder to pay back and stay debt free and denied them information and technology to mine and process their own resources, china does that. How many years has Israel been occupying Gaza and Palestine and deying them their right to rule themselves, denied them building airports or ports with the blessing of the west? How many civilians have died in Gaza since Israeli occupation since 1967? I thought they preach about respecting other's territory. How many Palestinian civilians have been killed in the current war due to indiscriminate bombing, even UN camps, starved the civilians, cut water, oil and just about any essential material to life and the west have acted as if it's business as usual? How many years has Cuba been under US sanctions for them choosing to side with Russia? I thought US and NATO were preaching to everyone the right of association like for most ex soviet countries that US and NATO occupied, not just associated with. Russia trades with them all. I mean, the list of hypocrisy and act of impunity by west is just endless
