My mum used to sing with this group back in the day. She still keeps in contact with a few of the members (Ursula and Annette, Rochelle is doing her solo thing now) and she knows Bobby Eli, from MFSB. He's very cool! I was exposed to good music early on.
I have always LOVED "FIRST CHOICE" your Moms name is on the tip of my tongue (but i remember reading of her & her leaving the group) naturally Rochelle Fleming was ALWAYS my favorite (especially after Doctor Love & the DELUSIONS lp) thanx for the info honey. DM (Pgh,PA.)
What looks and voices! Underrated group of women. They were only big during the seventies. I was twelve when this song was on the charts. My aunt and I discussed the words, especially the part about the caddie and ford. Some days. Neighbors have not changed much as of January 9, 2024!! 😮😮
1st choice in the top 3 female groups of all time They had a beautiful sound their harmonies the orchestra's old school early disco you can't beat it it had it all!!
they borrow money from your cookie jar but they hoping that they come and repossess your car...this song is 40 years old and the words are still true and relevant in 2016.
Wow, Philadelphia International really created some great orchestral music for us to dance to. If you were light on your toes you felt like you were dancing on clouds. Brought ballroom dancing into the disco club and I certainly enjoyed hustling by way about NYC. The music, the dancing, the clubs, the people, everything was beautiful, and it was a beautiful, sophisticated, classy and memorable time. I wish the youth and those young in mind of this generation the same good times we had back then. You know after all these years my wife and I are still hustle dancing.
First Choice owned the disco dance floors in early 70’s and the great Rochelle Fleming will be performing at Disco Ball December 30 2022 at Westbury Music Fair Long Island. Can’t wait and too bad I can’t wear platforms any more. Thanks for great memories.
This music's my youth Its also true The newsy neighbors also borrow money and make a fight so they can tell everybody they're not paying you back cause were not speaking Its an old PG trick bag I wonder of people still do it ?? The game doesn't change Love the music
Oh Yeah...The first time I heard this was on Soul Train...The following weekend I was @ The Nickel Bar in the city dancing to it or requesting to hear it...
A fitting Tribute to Disco Life in San Francisco. To all the "Gurls" who partied @ the Frisco Disco in San Francisco, California in the 70's... Thank you for sharing!
~ This + The Player = extended mixes before such a thing had a name. Essential First Choice, classic and eternal. Special love to Rochelle & Wardell. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Very underrated group and song/ however I dont consider First Choice just a disco group as they are labeled by some people. People have always had parties and danced at those parties for decades(20's 30's 40's 50's 60's 70's ETC) These sisters just happened to bless us with quite a few tracks that led us to the dance floors of all kinds( basements, recreation centers, school gyms, clubs etc. Man I sure was in better shape when we danced to these sounds!!!!Hey do the kids today dance?? LOL
The Gallery in Prov RI!!! ONE turntable and we still had a ball dancing!!! Michael Greer ! Wayland Flowers at the upstairs show room!!! Man those were the days!!!
Have always loved FIRST CHOICE as well as ECSTACY, PASSION & PAIN & MFSB, which has always been known to cook when they get the chance! Please check out Sister Sledge's "Pain Reliever" and Blue Magic's "Look Me Up" after you play this song. Thank God Rochelle Flemming is still appearing and keeping these songs alive! (By the way, MFSB a/k/a "Salsoul Orchestra" & the Ritchie Family (Orchestra) also played behind Sister Sledge, Blue Magic, Ecstacy, Passion & Pain" and so many others!
this jam takes me back to grand ballroom in manhattans 44 st guys wearing baggy suites and the girls with the satin dresses and red lipstick and the real; hustle before saturday night fever crap..lol there is no music like that anymore..
OMG I was at Grand Ballroom in Hotel Diplomat and to me Greatest Disco ever. I was one of the guys with a baggy suit and marshmallow shoes. Thank you for this great memory.
Love R&B from those years... Still had real instruments and talented musicians...
My mum used to sing with this group back in the day. She still keeps in contact with a few of the members (Ursula and Annette, Rochelle is doing her solo thing now) and she knows Bobby Eli, from MFSB. He's very cool! I was exposed to good music early on.
who is your mom?

En Argentina, en los 70 este tema lo enganchaban los DJ con The love I lost, teniamos 20 minutos de puro soul. Que bueno, bueniiiisimo
