Colin, thanks. I have ordered my Kuga PHEV Titanium, not due to arrive until September. So glad to find your reviews to help keep me informed before mine arrives.
I just ordered my kuga PHEV from Ford in Huntingdon! What a coincidence that I found your channel. I live locally so keep an eye on a lucid red (once I get it delivered)
@@fanoscharalambous2098 Hi Fanos! I'm only charging at home via the 3pin cable and have no plans to ever charge at a petrol station or public fast charger. I just won't need to while charging over night at home and it only takes 6 hours.
Delighted to premiere my next video today. Please like, subscribe and share among friends with similar interests! Thank you all so much for the positive comments on my last video. Let me know what you'd like to see in future around the Kuga, the incoming Seat Mii Electric or any side of my experiences with EV life in general.
Hi. Thank you for the nice video from here in Germany. Pls show me more about the things you do for the protection from the dogs scratches and hairs. Thx
First of all Colin, great video with very useful content. Can I ask you what your typical routine is regarding changing? ie every day, how long etc and also rough costings each charge.
Thank you! Sadly my PHEV has now departed but while we had it, charging really depended on its use and of course we were impacted by the battery issues while we had it. One thing I will say is you don't need a home charge point, the 3pin cable that comes with the car is sufficient to charge it and by setting charging times within the car, you can benefit from off peak charging too. Cost to charge spends on your energy tariff. There are tariffs that if you charge over night will give you 4 hours at 5p per kWh. This should give a theoretical cost of roughly 0.35p (4 hours at 5p and 1 hour at 14p, 14p being the average cost for a kWh). If you are not on an off peak rate, total cost should be around 70p for a full charge. Hope that all helps.
Thanks for this, trying to get hold of some footage showing interior of 2021 Kuga Vignale as I've ordered one but can't see in the flesh due to the lack of availability at dealers near me. Not ready until mid June, added the power roof and driver assistance pack so was good to see in your vid.
Well, it just so happens I have a Kuga Vignale on my drive at the moment. Long story.....it's a MHEV, manual in Panther Blue. No pano roof........was there anything specifically you wanted a closer look at as I'm planning a comparison video soon.
@@CambsEV thanks for the reply, just a few things i wanted to check, does the rear seats have heated option, i have ordered mats but they say w/o logo, I guess this is standatd mats and is there headlight washers on this model, seems trivial but good to know.
@@ThePeugeot407 Mine has heated rear seats. The mats don't have a logo as far as I can see. Mine also has headlamp washers......will get you a closer look at these areas asap.
Does the engine kick on if you need to heat the cabin? what about the air con...can it be run from the battery alone? Some us live in climates that have a narrow window for just using the windows! Thanks!
Hi Nick, thanks for the comment. Yes, air con can be run by the battery alone. No need for the engine. Great for preheating or calling the cabin before you get into the car!
Hi Colin I'm very thankful for your videos and I found it it's very very helpful, I read in one of your comment that the consuming of the car is 65 mpg,it is huge different between what they mention it's 200 mpg .I hope you can explain that for me.many thanks
Hello from the US! Do you have any information in regards to the Kuga battery recall and do we know how that will affect the Ford Escape PHEV delivery cycle here in the US?
Loving the videos. I went looking at this car today, I’m moving from the Peugeot 3008 to this Ford in September. What are the ambient lights like, are they similar to the 3008/5008 at night.
Check out my video launching at 6pm today. Lighting is generally concentrated around touch points, so buttons, cupholders and door opening levers in the interior.
@@colinhennessy2844 Did you know. If you are one of the people who turns on the car, before putting on the seatbelt, and get the "seatbelt warning" tune. You can disable this for each seat individually. Ex. just for the driver:)
Hi. Very informative video thanks. I see you have a spare wheel under cover in the boot. Could you tell me if the car battery (12v) is situated underneath the spare? Is the spare a full size or space saver wheel? Thanks, Dave.
There no 12v normal battery, the hole battery pack controls it all 😋.. So if it all dead. You can't upcharge it. You need a booster to kick-start it and then you can charge the big battery. Very weird indeed 😅
To be honest, I do...there are not many instances when I personally need a big boost of power, mostly down to driving style but a combination of the electric motor and the petrol engine seems to be enough for me, especially in overtaking situations.
Hi there, thanks for the informative video! It's the only place I was able to find confirmation that the rear seats still slide in the PHEV variant. :) Question: Is it possible precondition the car (for both heating and cooling) without starting up the gas engine? Does it depend on whether it's charging or not charging or connected to wifi or cellular network?
HI there, yes...you can precondition via the app or by setting times via the SYNC3 system. The car can be charging or not. I find it easier to precondition by starting the car remotely via the app about 5 mins before I leave to go anywhere due to quite a varied routine at the moment. Setting departure times via the app can be quite hit and miss....best to set them via SYNC 3 if you leave at a certain time everyday. It doesn't need to be connected to wifi, I believe it is done by an internal SIM already fitted. Once your cell is connected to wifi or your network, you will be able to communicate with the car. 😀
is yours xline doesnt xline have black roof also what are bad things you dont like really its a bigger version of new focus appart from being electric mutch same as my focus interior
It has a tinted glass panoramic roof. I mention the number of annoying notifications and also previously I mentioned that the SYNC3 screen was angled to the left which I found bizarre in a right hand drive care. Also, it is missing memory seat function despite being advertised as included in the brochure. Not a lot else until I drive it more and get used to charging regularly. Still have no idea how economical it is or how fast it is!
@@CambsEV Funny, on the Left hand drive version, it seems like the sync3 screen is center to car:) (would be nice it it was tiltet a bit towards the driver. Like in Mazda´s
Hi Colin, Great Video's Thinking of changing from 3008 to Kuga ST X hybrid, Regards the Charging time display control, can you set the charge from 12pm to 7am via Mains plug box as on Economy 7 low cost electric, do you set it in the menu then press the TIME button in the plug box on the car, Thanks
Hi mate, I would typically try to set the charging times via the app or via the SYNC3 system in the car. I've not looked into what that button does to be honest!!
We choose hybrid as there were no full EV cars at the size we needed and at the budget we needed......at the time of ordering.......and we couldn't wait. If the Model Y or Ford Mach E had been available, we may have chosen one of them. We also have a daily routine, dropping and collecting the kids from school, which is a 25 mile trip. During the year, we typically do a number of long trips to the north and south of the UK when we need extra range. But mainly it was price and space needed that 'drove' us to choosing the Kuga PHEV.
Last moments hi there, I only thought about looking at it after 250 miles and it was 65mpg. That was since collecting, driving 100 miles on the engine then a further 150 miles of local mixed short journeys, mostly on EV. The other day I did a 20 mile trip and it showed 305mpg but that was on just electric.
@@CambsEV Thanks CAMBSEV, I was wondering With a full charge and combined power, how many miles the car will take you ? or lets say I do a 150 miles a day, will the battery last on a combiled power?
