I might have the same laptop, is it core 2 duo with 3gb of ram.
If we have the same laptops can you please tell how ubuntu is working on your machine, since I too want to dive into the world of linux and would like to know if ubuntu works smoothly on this laptop.

So if I have a brand new dell XPS do I need to go through the normal microsoft set up and connect to the internet, then do the boot up mode with the USB, or can I install without internet connection? Thanks.
